We shopped. A lot. Like, I'm DONE buying for my parents and R's stocking stuffers are done. Also did some laundry and R cleaned out his closet. It was pretty astonishing the amount of blue-striped short sleeve dress shirts he had (to get rid of).
Now it's done raining for a bit, I'm going to try to haul my sewing cabinet outside this afternoon or tomorrow and sand it down/put a coat of primer on it.

I'm so jealous, I've hardly bought any presents yet! But I did manage to finish painting my kitchen (just in time for Thanksgiving!). I ended up going w/BM manchester tan. It's very neutral but it works well in the dark, segmented space that it my kitchen.

Best part about my weekend? Plenty of work (I love working). I had a brand new consultation client. She's delightful and we hit it off marvelously. She had me do some pruning while I was there, and she immediately booked a tree planting appointment. We're going to cut a hole in her deck and drop a tree into it (exciting stuff!) so she'll have a beautiful, shady place to sit. Also did 4 hours worth of municipal pruning on street trees in the city, in preparation for a Christmas house tour. Worst part? Painful, recurrent elbow injury flared up, so my left arm was useless the rest of the day.
Additionally, I got some Christmas shopping done; and I think I finally got ALL the documents for my guardianship forwarded to the lawyer. That is a HUGE, HUGE stress relief!
We installed our new toilet in the main bathroom and replaced the old one that was gross, old, and way too short. DH admitted that he never used it because it was gross, but I thought that he hadn't noticed how gross it was because he never used it. lol
We managed to be at Trader Joe's at opening Saturday morning and we filled our cart and got out of there before the parking lot was anywhere near full. We were back home in time for a late breakfast. It is nice to have well stocked fridge/freezer and and pantry. We won't need to go back there for some time. Between there and the natural food and health store we managed to spend a lot of money on groceries this weekend. The liquor store got some of our money too...we ordered some rum that we had tasted at the Food & Wine Festival (Starr African Rum) and hadn't been able to find anywhere. We are trying to stock our bar, one bottle at a time.
We were at Tuesday Morning early Sunday and got the items that we wanted from their early black friday sale (for us/our house-lol) and we found a few gifts too.
It rained over the weekend, so other than those errands, we hung around the house, shopped a little online, watched movies and just hung out with the pups. It was nice.
We figured out our route/stops (that was not easy), and made lodging reservations for our Christmas road trip....at least for the way out. That wasn't easy either. There was no shortage of rooms at the inns, but traveling with four dogs means that the lodging may be just a step above a barn with a manger. It is hard to find decent hotels on the route we are taking that allow so many pups...even though they are little and crated. I really hope that we can drive a different route home (or at least stop in cities with more choices) and can stay at nicer places on the way back. DH was so tired of working on our departure route that he gave up on working on the trip back home for another week.
I ordered a power lift chair for my mom. I finally found one that wasn't entirely hideous and/or not her style. Hopefully she will be surprised in a good way.
Remember all that talk I had about painting my dining room this weekend? Yeah.. nope.. nada. I got distracted with spending time with the family and being a lazy bum. I will finish it up this week though because I want stuff to be done before my daughter's birthday and Christmas this coming month.
