NCR Trail 1/2 Sat., then NOTHING for 2.5 months. Say what?
M: 5 miles, Chisel class T: 8 miles w/ 2 @ goal half pace W: upper body, core Th: 5 miles Fri: rest Sat: 13.1! End of racing year!
Vents/Issues: trying not to get sick, blah
Highlights/AW's: I won a 10k and PR'd by 34 seconds! 41:47, and all but mile 3 (6:33) were 6:37-6:39 (via Garmin) I ran it so well! I definitely needed a confidence boost, and am happy I got one PR out of my training cycle this Summer/Fall.
What are you training for? Date? Cyclocross, ongoing. I plan to go to the National Championships in Jan.
Training plan for the week? Sat.: 2 hour group road ride Sunday: Cyclocross race Monday: 60 minute recovery ride on the trainer Tuesday: 60 minute moderate trainer ride Wed.: Off Thursday: 30-40 mile road ride Friday: Off Sat./Sunday: 3 hour mtb or road ride
Any vents or issues? I'm still doing laundry from Sunday's muddy race. My bikes haven't been washed. Ugh.
Highlights and AW's from the past week? I finished the race in one piece.
What are you training for? Date? Nothing official, but toying with another half in May. Maybe some 10k's this winter?
Training plan for the week? M: 4.25 run, biceps, abs T: 3 miles hills, chest, abs W: 10 min HIIT, triceps T: 10 min HIIT, legs F: 10 min HIIT, 15 min speed work, shoulders Sat/Sun: 11.7 mile run one day, 10 min HIIT other, back, abs
Any vents or issues? My hip has been acting up. I'm working on extra stretches this week, but after reading the shoe thread, I think I may have close to 400 miles on them and it may be time to replace.
Highlights and AW's from the past week? I'm working to eat better and lose 5-10 lbs. As of this morning I'm down 4!
What are you training for? Date? Kiawah full, 12/13, Turkey Trot 5k Thursday (gotta keep my 2nd place age group streak going!)
Training plan for the week? M: 8 mi Tu: yoga W: 7 mi Th: 5k, total of 9 mi (counting this as tempo) Sa: 16 mi Su: 3-4 recovery
Any vents or issues? Just getting the usual late cycle aches and pains. And I've burned through another pair of shoes. Yikes.
Highlights and AW's from the past week? Had an awesome (if unorthodox) 22 miler to head into taper. My last six miles averaged about 8:15. And I'm on track to get suuuuuper close to a 200 mile month. Wut?
What are you training for? Date? I've got a bunch of 5ks on the schedule, but I'm not training for anything specific. I'm searching for a spring half.
Training plan for the week? M - 5M + stretch T - 5m + strength W - travel Th - Gobble Gobble (5m) F - 10m Sat - 5m Sun - cross + strength
Any vents or issues? The weather, I am pretty sure we are going to be stuck at the airport tomorrow. Our flight leaves at 5, which doesn't look promissing for our travel plans.
Highlights and AW's from the past week? I thought I was slacking off post marathon, turns out I've already run 84 miles this month. Boy marathon training messes with my mind

What are you training for? Date? Real Ale Ride in May ~50 miles and a local Sprint Tri in June
Training plan for the week?
M- Back + 10 laps in the pool T - Run 4 of C25K + maybe chest & abs W - Legs T - Bike ride ~20 miles F - Run 5 of C25K S - Bike ride S - rest
Any vents or issues? I'm really pumped up about really getting in shape, but DH insists on working out with me and he drives me crazy! We have such different workout techniques so neither one of us is getting the workout we want.
Highlights and AW's from the past week? Just staying committed to the training I want to do. I usually have good intentions but sometimes struggle with follow through.
T: Turkey Trot 5K. I had planned on going alone, but my teenage neighbors just registered. They are great kids, so I am looking forward to spending time with them.
F: Rest
S: 8-10 miles
S: Rest
Any vents or issues?
Nope. Doing well.
Highlights and AW's from the past week?
I was super excited about my time from Sundays 10K. My time for this race last year was 51:20, and that was my 10K PR. I was aiming to PR, and was hoping for sub-50. Much to my surprise, my time was 48:26!

What are you training for? Date? Kiawah Half (12/13), Ten Miler (11/30)
Training plan for the week? Mon - rest Tues - speed workout on treadmill Wed - hopefully 3 miles Thurs - 5k turkey trail trot in snow Fri - rest Sat - rest Sun - 10 mile race w/ scm1011 (Are you still planning on doing this?)
Any vents or issues? I've been exhausted lately. My long run this weekend sucked. I hate that we are getting potentially 6" of snow Wed/Thurs.
Highlights and AW's from the past week? I ended up running a 10k on Wednesday night with my running group with very even splits about 30:30 for both 5k's. Not my fastest 10k but not bad for a midweek thing.
I will add to the weather vents others have mentioned. Race weather looks great. But, yeah, if it snows Wednesday (3-5 inches N of Baltimore?) then 35-38 Thurs and Fri, I'm not sure what a trail half will look like. It's flat like C&O, so not exactly a trail race, but also not a road race (no plows/salt). Wait and see is my only option here, but I'm feeling like 2015 will be my year for that half PR.

What are you training for? Date? Shamrock 8K & Marathon - March 2015 (Training officially starts next week, but I'm hoping that if I post in here I will get motivated )
Training plan for the week? Mon - Strength Tues - Spin/Abs Class Wed - Cross-training Thurs - Run 6ish Fri - Maybe a Spin Class or some other cardio class (if I survive my thanksgiving hangover and black friday) Sat - Spin Sun - Run 8
Any vents or issues? Not yet
Highlights and AW's from the past week? I ran again!! I'm going to train using Galloway. So far the 3:1 ratio is going well.
mswax that half was on my list as well. I heard good things about it too.
That's the same company that did the Newburyport half right?
Yes. Same company. They put on a really good race. They also have a mid-week running club in Newburyport that culminates with cheap beer and pizza at Flatbreads...makes me wish I lived closer!
What are you training for? Date? Kiawah Half 12/13, RNR Half 3/14
Training plan for the week? Mon - Rest, Tues - 6M, Wed - NROL (abs)!, Thur - 8 or 9M, Fri - NROL (abs), Sat - rest, Sun - 3M + NROL (abs)
Any vents or issues?Just feeling a little lost still. It's so weird to not have this all-consuming goal to work towards. LOL.
Highlights and AW's from the past week? It's been a slow week, just been taking it easy. I'm excited to start lifting again and finally go to the gym which I've been paying for.
Turkey Trot and another 5k coming up 12/6. Was planning on the Charleston Half (1/17) but that's now even more up in the air than before. I don't know. Maybe RnR DC in March??
M-Active Rest (yoga) T - 3 miles W - 4 miles Th - Turkey Trot 5k - not planning anything crazy here - just running this as my 3 mile planned run for the day. Might end up pushing DD in our non-jogging stroller and walking it. F - rest rest. Sa - 8 miles Su - cross. Living room bike probably and some body weight strength stuff.
The logistics of making Charleston work are making me cranky. And I will just whine one last time about the fact that this past weekend I packed my shoes, all my running clothes, even my stupid water pack and forgot my damned bra. BRA AND SHOES WAWA THOSE ARE THE ONLY THINGS THAT REALLY MATTER!!
I had a sub10minute mile split according to my phone GPS on one of my weekday runs. This is a first for me because I'm slow like a turtle. I'm honestly not sure if I believe the GPS....but I know I can run at that pace for shorter periods comfortably, so I guess I just zoned out successfully and did it for a full mile? I didn't feel that fast. But I'll take it!

What are you training for? Date? Space Coast HM on SUNDAY!
Training plan for the week?
M: Easy 3 T: frantically pack W: Drive to Disney R: Easy 3 F: XT with lots of walking S: 30 min shakeout Su: 13.1 miles
Any vents or issues? I'm going nuts over here. I know I've done it before, but I feel like it didn't count because I got hurt, so I have the first HM nerves all over again. I'm just ready to run this race and get it over with.
Highlights and AW's from the past week? I fought off a cold. That made me pretty happy. Talk to me next week and maybe I'll have better highlights

What are you training for? Date? ATC Thanksgiving 5k, Kiawah 1/2 (12/13)
Training plan for the week? TBD
Did a little bit of everything last week:
Mon: off Tue: 7 mile run Wed: JM DVD, 45 mins elliptical Thu: off Fri: 45 min elliptical, 20 mins bike Sat: 3.5 mile run, 30 mins elliptical Sun: 4 mile run, 15 min elliptical, 10 mins bike, JM DVD
Jesus, you are fast at the shorter distances. Well, you are smokin' fast at ALL of the distances, but you get significantly more whollyfuckingshit she's fast, as they get shorter. Congrats!
]What are you training for? Date? Dubai Marathon, January 23
Training plan for the week? 5,7,5,13 Yay for cut back week!
Any vents or issues? I have been letting long runs get in my head. I am running them way slower than I should be capable of and I feel like I'm training myself to run a slower race than it should be. I just vented this in a different post yesterday. I'm feeling super frustrated by it because I was killing my best 10k times (indoors) just a few months ago.
Highlights and AW's from the past week? I had a good speed workout yesterday. And I made it through 17 miles, admittedly too slowly, without dying on Friday.
Ncr 1/2, kiawah 1/2. My hips/ pelvis are still out of whack but on the mend. I did run yesterday (5 miles) which was the first run in over a week. I have a confession. I'm not that upset about dropping to the half. I was a little bummed for a day or 2, but honestly I just want to have fun in kiawah and then take a running break. Actually if we are being completely honest I had a hard time with long run motivation the whole training cycle. I used to love long runs. Not so much anymore
