If it makes you feel any better, I ordered a traditional long baptism dress for DD for when she was 18 months. She was walking by then and it was a disaster.
I feel like overnight my kid went from "the 12 month dress still works as a top" to 12-18 month is too short/tight, 12 month is not at all"
Currently she either looks like a bag kid because she's swimming in 2T or like she's trying too hard to be skinny because 12-18 month is getting too small. But I don't have much for in between those sizes. She's exactly 18 months too, so it's not like I was way off in my buying.
Long way of saying, I think it's your kid's fault - not yours
ETA: or ask someone to measure the length of their 3T? Just so you can decide if it's worth it. And they do normally have some extras, so you could try calling about an exchange.

Get thick tights or use cream leggings. There is no way someone is going 'see' her bum through that lace. I doubt that the 3T will be significantly longer, the lace looks to be in the right place.
OH hell your kid has matching socks?!? I already lose at parenting. Seriously tights/leggings and that shit is cool! (spoken from the parent that did the same thing.) leggings look cute on little girls.
