I had a ton of reading time in July, apparently: Shine Shine Shine Lydia Netzer Where We Belong Emily Giffin The Red Book Deborah Copaken Kogan The Collective Don Lee Tigers in Red Weather Liza Klaussmann Tumbleweeds Leila Meacham Beautiful Ruins Jess Walter Mockingjay Suzanne Collins (reread) Grace Among Thieves Julie Hyzy Shadow and Bone Leigh Bardugo White Glove War Katie Crouch The Age of Miracles Karen Walker Thompson
I'm at 80 for the year. Beautiful Ruins was definitely my favorite from this month, possibly for the year too.

18. Perfume: The Story of a Murderer -- Süskind, Patrick 19. Stuck in the Middle -- Smith, Virginia 20. The House of Special Purpose -- Falconer, Colin 21. Katy's New World -- Sawyer, Kim Vogel 22. Cover Her Face -- James, P.D. (I finished the last 20 pages in August, but I'm counting it for July)
I enjoyed Cover Her Face very much and am looking for the other books in the series. Katy's New World was a fun easy read, for a Kindle freebie it wasn't bad. The House of Special Purpose was terrible -- poorly written and poorly researched, including outright lies and fabrications. Stuck in the Middle as surprisingly good for a Kindle freebie, I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would; I finished it in less than a day! Perfume was weird, very strange; I really only finished it to see how it turned out, not because I really cared, interesting enough but nothing I would or could recommend to anyone else.
July was an epic fail for me. I'm in the middle of 3 books and I haven't been able to finish any of them. I've been in a bit of a reading slump lately:(
My total so far this year is 112 books. I really enjoyed the Benjamin Black series and I think a new one comes out this month. Black Hearts was another eye-opening read.

I tried reading Perfume but I couldn't get into it. Have you seen the movie? I love that Alan Rickman is in it! ;D
I'm at 30 for the year. So I'm 1 ahead for my year goal. This month was heavy on Teen lit but my book clubs picked them. Favorite out of that list is Whitethorn Woods and least fav is Salem Falls. The teen lit was good if you like teen lit.
Salem Falls by Jodi Picoult Where She Went by Gayle Foreman The Way We Fall by Megan Crewe Whitethorn Woods by Mauve Binchy If I Stay by Gayle Foreman

I didn't know there was a movie. I was stuck in Melbourne due to flooding and had finished my current book I when saw the book in a display of Penguin Classics at a bookstore and thought it was worth a go.
I think though it might be better as a movie -- or maybe not, it got very weird and could be quite graphic.

I won't lie, it is a VERY weird movie. I still watched it for Alan Rickman. ;D

I loved the 2 books you listed by Gayle Foreman. They are great reads!

I am at 16 books for the year, but I really only started seriously reading again this summer. I'm hoping to keep up the momentum even in the face of required reading this year. I set my goal at 25 since it is my first reading challenge. I'm ahead 2 books, so hopefully I will beat it by a large margin.

Loving Frank by Nancy Horan- 3 stars Girl Walks Into a Bar by Rachel Dratch - 3 1/2 stars Deadlocked by Charlaine Harris - 2 stars Messy by the Fug Girls - 4 stars The Chaperone by Laura Moriarty - 4 1/2 stars Poison by Sara Poole - 3 1/2 stars
I'm at 46 books for the year, with a goal of 70. A couple of those were really short, though, so I feel like I need to read a couple of really long ones to make up for it, heh.
I was staycationing last week, so I was off-board but read a lot of books. In July:
Risky Business (Nora Roberts) - 3* Unbroken (Lauren Hillenbrand) - 5* The House at Riverton (Kate Morton) - 5* Dreamfever (Karen Marie Moning) - 5* Shadowfever (Karen Marie Moning) - 5* The Crucible (Arthur Miller) - 5* Shadow of Night (Deborah Harkness) - 3* Suck Your Stomach in and Put Some Color On! (Shellie Rushing Tomlinson) - 3* Fever Moon: The Fear Dorcha (Karen Marie Moning) - 4* Overdressed: The Shockingly High Cost of Cheap Fashion (Elizabeth L. Cline) - 4.5*
I've read 70 books so far this year. Four of this month's books (Unbroken, Dreamfever, Shadowfever, and The Crucible) were on audio and were all very well-done.
