We have free DOGTV this weekend. Apple did watch it while we were sitting on the couch together but I am sure she won't look for it while I am not around.
But I am wondering if the music/sounds would keep her company and calm her down while I am not home during the day any better than the music that I leave on normally. She does need more stimulation while I am not home. I tend to listen to a lot of 70's and 80's music so I leave that on since it's what she is familiar with when I am home but wonder if the "pet friendly sounds of DOGTV" might be better.
The free preview ends today so I can't try it out while I am at work to see if there is a difference.
Does anyone have any experience with this channel?
My dog enjoys Animal Planet, and I caught her watching the tv during a Hallmark movie that featured a dog (The Christmas Shepherd). I find that a low level of peaceful animal sounds calms her down.
ETA: I don't have DogTV but that sounds interesting.

Aw man, I wish I'd seen this. I'm almost desperate enough to try it. We're having a tough transition to our new place, and our dog hates being alone.
Yesterday, I left the the TV on YouTube playing "white noise for dogs". I've also played another white noise channel and have used a white noise app on my iPad.
We don't but when we had cable Willow was fascinated by the shows with the big cats. She would sit and stare at the lions and leopards, etc. and when they growled or roared, her ears would perk up. It was hilarious.

I've never heard of it, but my dogsitter did recommend having the radio on when I was gone to have voices. I was thinking I'd leave it tuned to NPR or something. I know with my old dogs I couldn't watch any emergency vet shows when they were around, because dogs whining/crying/barking freaked them out.
