Good week

I need to come around more and catch up on what's going on with everyone (and would love if someone would summarize a bit - I know about Ojo and support the "we want pictures!" post ).

This week Mr. Sookie came home from deployment #3 AND I was tentatively hired for a job on base! It's a contract position, so it was a semi-hire until they were granted the contract. I'm not taking it though because Tuesday I was called by someone I never applied with and was asked to come in about a job they had open. I know the big boss there, so I knew how they got my information. I went in Wednesday to talk about it and was hired on the spot! They weren't even planning on interviewing anyone else as long as I was interested. I start the day Mr. Sookie goes back to work after his leave. After a little over 2 months of applying for way more jobs than I care to admit, I finally found something AND it's something I won't hate!

Other than homecoming, a new job falling into my lap, and Scentsy, not much else has been going on. So, someone update me on y'all so I can feel a part of the group again!

Yay! I knew from your freezer cooking expedition on FB that Mr. Sookie would be home soon. So glad your enjoying your time with him and that you got a new job!

I have finally made the decision that I have been toying with making for over a year. I'm going to be a teacher when I grow up! Science teacher actually! I'm working out all the stuff I need to get together and what things I need to have analyzed and have a test date set for the subject matter tests I have to take. I'm talking with my uncle who is in higher education this weekend for help with a few things. It feels so good to finally have made the decision and am going to stick with it! Other than that just life and waiting for September to be over so my brother's wedding is over.

Hey that's great news! Congrats on a job you'll enjoy. Those are rare and yay to your hubby being back home!

I just found out yesterday. I was there talking with them and she asked what my take was on the family/work divide (it can be a stressful job sometimes and she wants to make sure I can switch between the two) and I answered and mentioned that "speaking of family commitments though, I have a trip planned in December at Christmas that is a non-negotiable because everything is being planned around us for a baptism that we're the God parents for, so if I'm offered the job I would HAVE to have off then." She flat out said "well that's fine. And it's not a 'if we offer the job' because we're not interviewing anyone else. You're the perfect person for the job." Well ok!

I think you'll make a GREAT teacher! Do you need to take anymore classes or do student teaching? I know in Texas there's a few classes we have to take post-bach but it's pretty quick from what I understand. So excited for you!!

When is the wedding?

Thanks! I need to get my teaching credential which will end up being about a year long process. There is a program here that will allow me to teach and be paid while getting my credential and my tuition is taken out of my paycheck! I'm really crossing my fingers I can get into that one.

Wedding is September 8th. If you don't here from me after that point send a search party to help E find me or bail me out of jail.
