Does anyone have any recipes to share for use of dehydrator?
H just bought one to make jerky, but I'd like to experiment with other recipes like fruits, granola, etc (or if you have a great jerky recipe, please share). TIA
My favorite thing to dehydrate is apple chips Thinly slice, splash them in some lemon juice (to prevent browning) and dehydrate 24-36 hours. I love mine extra crispy so I usually do 36hrs.

Lurker here: We haven't tried jerky yet. We have done strawberries, bananas and zucchini chips.
The bananas turned out wonderful, I've been adding them to my yogurt. For everything, we've followed the directions and temperature set by the company.
For the zucchini I made flavored chips, some with a touch of olive oil and pepper, then lemon and basil and horseradish. My favorite from my experiments was lemon and basil, it turned out the crispiest.

This explains why mine were a fail. I gave up at about 15 hours.
Drying tomatoes is awesome, especially since it's tomato season! My favorites are grape/cherry tomatoes that are sliced in half, which means they take less time. I dry them MOST of the way, then throw them in a big ziplock bag with some olive oil, fresh basil, and chopped garlic, then put that in the freezer. You can thaw throughout the winter and pulse it a little in the food processor - makes a great sauce for pasta, or for a pizza, with just a but of mozzarella on top.
You can obviously dry the tomatoes for other uses as well.
Also, start drying your own herbs. Ikea has little glass jars that are perfect for storage and cheap. I've done basil, parsley, oregano, dill and chives.
