We've been debating about doing it, but the night sleeping (or lack thereof) was too much for me and this weekend I told H we needed to separate the boys.
Friday night was the first night in separate rooms and it was amazing! Very minimal crying (we were doing CIO) and they slept until 7am! They usually wake up around 5am, so this was a pleasant surprise. And the same thing happened Saturday night! Last night wasn't quite as good, but not bad, and they slept until 5:45/6am - I'm sure they woke up because H was getting ready for work.
I am kicking myself we didn't do this sooner, but at least I'm now getting a hell of a lot more sleep!
Separate rooms are a glorious thing. We separated our boys when they were 4 months old, and I will never go back to having them together. They are 3 years old now, and I think I *might* just have a touch of PTSD from our STTN struggles.
We only have two bedrooms, but we separate for nap time. It's made a world of difference and life is so much better on weekends. They are great at night, but were awful together during nap time.

This is exactly us. But, I have a feeling they would do even better separate at night too, so three bedrooms on the same floor is a non-negotiable for us when we hopefully move in the spring.
I may regret saying this, but I'm looking forward to when they are older and I feel comfortable just pulling them into bed with us instead of trying to do the snuggle to crib shuffle.

Same here - hoping to move in the spring with 3 up and one in the basement for the in-laws when the visit

We separated our boys at 4.5 when we moved into a house with more than 2 bedrooms. It's been great!! It was a little hard on our little extrovert at first but they've adjusted.
