Usually when Bean wakes up she'll come crawl into bed with me and sleep a few more hours. Not so today.

Yesterday we bought Barbies with her birthday money and a little tube of acrylic pink paint for a project I'm doing. They went into the same sack. I'm still tired from my 19 hour drive the other day so I completely forgot the paint was in the sack by the time we got home and I didn't put it away.

She goes looking for Barbie today, finds paint and this is what happened. Does anyone know, is my couch cover done for? Luckily it's Ikea so I could strip the whole thing off and throw it in the wash. It's on it's second run in the wash right now though, and it's not looking good. Think I'll need to make a trip to Ikea for a new cover or can I save this one?

I'm not sure if it will wreck the color of you couch cover but I might try paint thinner. You can get a decent sized container at Michael's. Good luck!

I think your best bet to clean that all up is regular dish soap and water. Maybe scrub it with a soapy sponge when it is done in the washer? But yeah, if it doesn't come off the couch cover, you're probably making a trip to get a new one.

Now this might be silly but, maybe fingernail polish remover might work without destroying it because the paint is acrylic based?

I'm with Jam and Stan. However, I wouldn't try a paint thinner because I think it would ruin the fabric. I'd try washing it, then not throwing it in the dryer, and seeing if hand scrubbing the rest and then throwing it back in the washer would help.

My only advice is to lock up the paints every night before you go to bed.

I caught it early enough that almost everything cleaned up pretty well. It took me about two hours to do everything but the couch, which I sent through the wash twice and will try the nail polish after Bean goes to bed. If nothing else, I'll head to Ikea, but it'll be a few weeks before I can make it there so we'll just have to make do with the pink.

Beebee, the little white and black dog, still has a tint of pink in her fur, but otherwise they're both good and clean.

I definitely was on the verge of crying this morning just because I had so much to do today and this just ruined everything, but I'm laughing now. DH has been laughing since I texted him this morning.

KC- I keep thinking Dexter! She came into my room, shook me, showed me her hands and arms, and said "Mommy....I made a mess." I told DH it was a good thing it was pink and not red paint or my initial reaction would have been so much more extreme.

She definitely knew she was in trouble. I did not put that shirt on her. Her torso was covered in paint, she must have taken that shirt out of her hamper and put it on to try to hide it. Lil squirt.

OMG! I thought the same thing (which made it extra funny tbh). I showed my H the pics and his facial expressions every time he scrolled to the side was priceless.
