I know active duty has been protected in the past, but what about VA benefits? Were those delayed? Trying to figure out if we should worry about his GI Bill BAH not showing up on time.
Not sure about VA benefits, but I think a Stop-Movement goes into place, so it could screw up our upcoming PCS. Whee!
I would hope that VA would be protected, similar to military. It's one of those media-pathic type things that would generate enough across-political-division-support to allow a bill to pass to pay VA benefits. (that's how the military is usually protected for this stuff).
I heard about it after the immigration speech a week or two ago - there was talk that the speech might make some politicians ornery enough to allow another shutdown... Apparently the funding bill is needed by next Thursday to avoid a shutdown. Whee.
Oh for Pete's sake. I've been in a bubble as well. It happens sometimes when DH goes out of town. Ugh. Luckily for us we're probably footing the bill ourselves for our next "move" anyhow so no worries. I'm sorry to say for some reason in the back of my mind the only protections last time for for active duty and nobody and nothing else. I hope I'm wrong.
I wouldn't worry about that far out, unless they play the whole kick it down the road game again.
For us, our PCS could be counted down in days. I'm a little worried. I asked DH about it, and he shrugged it off, but who knows.
That's what I figured. I'm not worried. I refuse to stress over it this far out.
I hope things don't screw up your PCS though!
Yeah, worry/stress wouldn't enter my mind in your situation.
Ours, well, we'll see what happens. DH is worried stuff at work might push out our PCS (basically shrink our PCS leave length), anyways. He's one giant stressball right now. I hope the worst of that is over by the time I get back from my next work trip. *crosses fingers*
