We have some holiday time during Chinese New Year and I'd like to spend it some place warm. What's a good place I can go for about a week that isn't (mostly) celebrating CNY, not likely to drench me daily in a rainy season, isn't super far from korea, where I'm flying from. Aka not Australia/NZ (saving that for a 2weeker).
Is anyone familiar with Bali's weather in Feb? I'm seeing "only rains a little in the afternoon" and "don't go there in Feb ever" so I'm confused. Guam is on my list too but the flights I've looked up are at terrible times. I would consider sucking it up though. Any other recs?
We went to Bali last year in late January/early February and the weather was fine. We were by the pool or on the beach every day with a slight shower at night or in the afternoon. Nothing that bothered us too much.
What about the Philippines? It was a short and direct flight to Boracay.
I've found better flight times to Saipan than Guam, so you may want to check there, too.

I have also looked into traveling during CNY and I've heard Bali is a good bet it is one of the few places in SE Asia where CNY isn't a big thing. I have also heard it could be rainy then, but I don't think that is the height of rainy season.
I would also look into the Philippines. I'm not sure what the CNY situation is there, but I think the Chinese population is fairly well integrated so it probably isn't as big of a deal as a lot of places in continental SE Asia.
We went to Bali in February and the weather was great. We literally got 10-15 minutes of rain a day, and the resorts were crazy cheap (and dead) because it is their low season.
Not sure if Thailand/Malaysia/Singapore is too far, but I've been there in February as well and the weather is fabulous.
