So my family and I are celebrating my dads 50th birthday and husbands 30th birthday this summer in the Caribbean. We want to make shirts for everyone but we want them to be nice not cheesy like many family reunion shirts out there. We want to mention the birthdays and the bjg reunion. It will be my family and husbands too. Maybe something funny? What about a design? You guys are always great help. What do you recommend? What color would you chose for the shirts?
I don't think there's such thing as non-cheesy matching family reunion shirts----
In the caribbean, I'd prob do a light/summery color, like pale blue or yellow. To go as non-cheesy as possible, keep the font size small- I'd probably write "lastname reunion 2012" on the front, maybe just on one side near the chest, and then on the back, high up on the shoulder, write "happy birthday X and X!"

I agree that it is going to be really hard to not keep the shirt from looking cheesy. Maybe if you kept the font really small and put it on a polo, like Smith-Jones Family Reunion 2012 in the front corner.
Something else fun, but definitely, would be matching bowler-style shirts in tropic/Caribbean colors, not sure on a good saying, probably depends on the last name(s).
I know most of them are super cheesy but I thought that since its a big group of people and we are all celebrating the same it would be nice. Just thought something funny would make more unique instead of the traditional reunion shirt.
I agree with keeping the colors light and breezy (but I veto yellow since *I* personally look jaundiced in it, go with light blue or green since those tend to be okay on most people). I like the bowler shirt idea as well, or the small tag "xx family reunion 2012" on the left breast and then it would be fun to come up with a custom silly/funny graphic for the back.
Are there things that define your family? Things that define the two birthday peeps? (To get ideas for a graphic)

The larger the font, the cheesier it will be.
the first line.. good luck! i'm jealous that you're having a family reunion in such a nice place!
