I just received an email from a store called new york and company. I don't think I've ever shopped there before but they are doing a buy one get one free pant sale. Is there stuff any good? I am trying to build a work wardrobe so anything free sounds good to me!

They are a hit or miss with their style trends but a great place for basics, like pants. Most of my work pants are from NY & Co. They're sales are pretty awesome too.
They have been spamming the crap out of me lately. They have OK stuff. Some of the prints used on their prices are cheesy, but they have nice work pants and skirts. I find their sizing to be all over the place, though.

I feel like any time I buy something from there I end up not loving it after one or two wears and then it's the first to go when I make a donation stack, so I stopped shopping there. I like some of the clothes, but they just don't work well - something about the fit on me.
This might be harsh, but IMO, they're the Old Navy quality of business attire. Unless you're in a dire pinch, you're really better off buying 1 quality item from AT, BR, J.Crew than buying a stack of things from there.
I shop there occassionally. Recently I purchased the most flattering skinny jeans there. I'm actually hoping to get a few more pairs. I've also purchased some nice linen pants for the summer. Some of their clothes are really vanity sized though. I've been buying size 0 in their pants, when I'm normally a 2 or 4.

It's hit or miss. But I liked it ok for work clothes when I had to dress up a little. Not my fav but a good price and a decent fit. While the pants felt cheap they lasted forever for me
I used to really like their button down shirts. They fit well, didn't require ironing, and they have held up through regular washing for years. In the last year or so, the sizing has changed so much that they don't fit me right any more, but if that changes, I'll get more. I hate to iron and am too cheap to dry clean, so they are perfect for me when on sale.
I've found a lot of their delicate fabrics seem to work for me personally b/c its hand wash an hang dry I don't have to worry about the shrink issue so they last longer then other things I've purchased there. Totally agree on the "vaniy size" comment lol tho I wont complain b/c it does make u feel good on a bloated day.

I'd never pay anywhere near full price for their stuff, but if you wade through the crap there's some cute stuff. Don't expect it to last long at all since the quality is usually poor.
I agree with other posters in that I think the quality is very cheap. Doesn't wash well, color fades, etc. Although their clothes can be cheap/affordable, it's not even worth the (little) money.
you get what you pay for. Cheap clothes but good for some throwaway staples. I have some work pants from there and also sweats. They only last a season or two at the most. The sweaters and tops - one season tops.

I have to echo the PP. My biggest pet peeve is the lack of natural fibers. EVERYTHING is a poly/rayon blend. I do like their maxi dresses and some of their knit stuff though.
