I just ordered paper, a Stillman & Birn sketchbook, a Stonehenge sketchbook, plus, a few rulers, a Noodler's calligraphy pen, and other pens--Staedtler liners and some other brand.
Earlier this evening I bought paper at Staples too. Cheap inkjet and heavier weight part-cotton laser printer paper.
We invited family for christmas but no one was coming so it was just going to be us. Yesterday SIL says she wants to surprise ILs with plane tickets so they can all come up on Christmas Eve. She won't know until Monday if she can do it or not. So I have a lot to do to get the house ready and then they might not even come. I hate not knowing. I don't even think FIL will want to come and will be pissed but I'm not getting in the middle of it. Enjoying my soft sheets for a few extra minutes because I have a lot to do today.

My dog has the runs. Not good timing as I had a field hockey social last night and drank way too much red wine. He then proceeded to wake me up to go out at 1am, 3am, 5am and 6am. I'm tired and have a red wine hangover.
My kid is home sick for the second day in a row. Thank God I work from home. I swear first graders are way worse germ factories than anything Ive ever seen. He's caught like every bug this year and hardly ever got sick before.
I have a hair appt tonight. Thank God. My glitter is showing and seriously needs hidden with some highlights. Im pretty sure I look like stellas daughter when I go get my hair done. Extra wishes that my hair girl does not try to talk to me while she blowdries my hair. lol
H hunts, and when we went to pick up our venison from the butcher last night, he mentioned that he was going to see if there was somewhere he could donate some of it. If not to a shelter/food bank, then maybe to a local firehouse. (heart)
Broken record, but WHY is this week taking so damn long?
I'm hoping DH and I can both get out of work a little early to finish up our Christmas shopping so we don't have to do it Saturday. I do NOT want to be anywhere near a shopping center the weekend before Christmas.
I'm pretty sure I'm getting a sewing machine for Christmas, so I'm pinning aaaallll the "easy beginner project!" pins.
My gyno called last night that a nodule was found in my mammogram and they want to have a better look with a sonogram. I'm sure it's nothing but I hope this doesn't keep me from being able to get or afford insurance since I'm leaving my job at the end of January. I'm trying to think if there was a question on the application about having found non-cancerous nodules or if it just asked about cancer. I'm going to go back and get a quote under a different email to see the application again (the site wouldn't let me go back to review.) Fingers crossed because I really want to take the new position (I've accepted but haven't given notice at my existing job.)
I only have to get through the next 2 days and then I'm off for 2 glorious weeks!
Why is it on the days I have the most to do I always wake up two hours early? Ugh! I could not sleep and I have a shitton of stuff to do today: board our dog, go to post office to stop mail, set up and host David's school Christmas party, finish packing for me and David, and about a million other little things, then we're flying to CA this evening. I can't wait for this day to be over!

DH is home sick today. Both kids are coughing, snotty messes. I woke up with a sore throat. This cannot happen. No, just no. There is way too much to be done in the next week.
Also, I hate when he's home during the day because he throws off my balanced out, weekday life. That probably makes me mean, but I love my routine of things. Oh, and I have a thing about grown men being sick and having no sympathy. I know he's actually sick, but the sick voice and whatnot make me cringe and get instantly irritated. I thank my asshole ex step father for that personality quirk of mine. I'm working on it.
I'm changing my mind about the gift I'm most excited to give. It is now the Manatea, a manatee tea infuser. It is for a friend who loves the calming manatee meme. So it really is a calming Manatea. <3
I took a half day, I am leaving early to go meet with the moms in the neighborhood and have a few drinks and socialize before we get the kids off the bus.

If you want to eliminate an errand, you may be able to schedule the mail hold online. It would at least save you the hassle of the post office this time of year.
I am so unbelievably sore today. Everything hurts. It took me forever to roll out of bed this morning. I just have to get through today and tomorrow, and then I don't have to be back to work until January 5. There is a whole lot of couch-siting and netflix binging in my future.

I got that for a friend too. It's so cute. We also got the deep sea diver for MIL.

DD's holiday open house is today but siblings aren't allowed so I have to miss it. DD is really disappointed and I'm feeling like a shitty mom. I tried making it extra special by painting her nails and putting her hair in braids last night so it's wavy today. It seems to have distracted her from her disappointment for the time being.
I got a cold last Monday, and yesterday I got re-congested and a low grade fever, which I still had this morning. Why? I didn't even get a chance to get better! H is still getting over his cold, too, and L is currently sick and snotty with a terrible cough, and you can just tell by looking at her how crappy she feels. Oh, I also had to come to work because there is no PTO available for this month, and I got my period this morning. Happy fucking holidays! lol.

Tomorrow is my Birthday and I'm going to get the kids early so we can hopefully be home, in cozy clothes with hot cocoa and watching polar express by 3:30. Oh yes, I am wild and crazy, lol
Fucking ew. They had to draw blood from my hand yesterday because my veins now suck from chemo damage and scar tissue from too many pokes in the normal spots. Plus I was a little dehydrated. Now I have a giant pool of blood in my already witch like hands.

I went and bought some clothes for my niece for Christmas, and holy cow I was overwhelmed with all the choices and the matching and making outfits, it was so foreign to me but fun. I don't know how you ladies with little girls do it.
It's been cloudy for a few days and I feel like I haven't seen the sun in forever.
I'm irritated with my BFF's soon to be fiancé and I'm not sure if I should call her out or just live life resenting her forever and ever. I'm pretty non confrontational so it'll probably be the latter.
I'm trying to wrap my head around paper piecing (a type of quilting piecing). It just seems odd.
It is odd - I hope you don't have to pick out too many seams. I usually have to redo at least one or two per project.
Lol only three. I learned my lesson and reread the tutorial steps before I sewed the next seam. That fixed the problem.
It's also possible (probable) I didn't choose the best block to learn on. It's the Winnie the pooh block from fandom in stitches. On the plus side, really small seams are much easier to take out.

My teenager is annoying me lately with his " I know it all" attitude. Last night I wanted to lay into him because he said he didn't need to study for his finals. They don't affect his grade that much. I tried to tell him yes they do and you should always do your best he gave me the whatever Mom. We shall see when his grades come and if they are not at least all B's if he's getting to take his behind the wheel class.
