I realise this might sound trivial, but here it's life altering for a two year old. We have lost DS1 belonged stuffed cat that he's always slept with and brings everywhere inside. Because it's so important, it's an indoor cat. He loves it. The cat wears a diaper, gets dressed, feed, takes a bath. He was up late last night and woke up upset over it.
I know he brought him upstairs at 5:00 pm and I am going to tear the house apart looking for it. DH is going to FAO Schwarz to get a replacement if necessary. It's going to be the cat's brother.
Any vibes would be appreciated. DS1 is so upset and that means it's going to be a long day for one mommy. I just feel so bad.
Hugs! I lost My beloved Ted when I was around 3 and it was tough. Beththe Bear became my new buddy and I still have her. I hope your DS is feeling happier soon!
Well, it's got to be in the house somewhere, good luck. I'm going to throw out some random locations, under beds? In a pile of laundry? On a chair in your office? Under a couch? In a laundry hamper? Bathtub? Any cupboards he has access to in the kitchen or bathrooms?

Our house is not that big, the area he has access to maybe 1,200 sq feet, a little less. So far, we've looked under all the furniture and normal places; (couches, chairs, trunks, on all the lower kitchen cabinets, in the toy chest, closets, laundry bins and basket, our bed/his crib, the bathroom).
Now I'm trying to thing outside the box. We moved in six months ago and don't have that much stuff. One room is still empty.
Thanks for the vibes. Any suggestions of where to look? I'm open to anything

How big is this thing anyway?
He's black and maybe 8-10 inches long and four inches in width.
And check places that make absolutely no sense. DH found some medicine from when I had HFM in an old camera case in his home office closet. I haven't used that camera in years. NO idea how it got there.

Also, have you asked him? Ds1 has an incredible memory for where things are, even if I don't understand what he's saying. Is your son gravitating to any room in particular?
Sending good vibes. I remember that I lost "chick" (a 3 inch stuffed animal) when I was probably 6 and found it years later in the box of puppets. No idea how it got there. I find that after I've exhausted the usual places to look, the only thing that works in being completely systematic. Take a room, go around clockwise, and open anything that can be opened, look under/behind everything, etc. Good luck!

Yes, I've asked last night and this morning. He says he doesn't know. Apparently he takes after his father in the memory department.
I've looked all over upstairs. All I've discovered is I should consider a professional cleaning service and one lost play phone. If I hear ' mommy, where Douglas?' again my ears are going to bleed.
He's playing trains now so hopefully that will take us through lunch.
Maybe use a flashlight when looking under furniture or in dark corners. If he's black he probably blends in well. Alternatively, have you set out a can of tuna to draw him out?

Good Luck! Is he tangled in a pile of sheets or blankets somewhere? I've fished more stuff of DDS out that way. Esp. in the inbetween cracks on the buttons of my duvet.
Any empty boxes from orders/Christmas presents laying around? DD loves to hide stuff in boxes. In the back of a clothes closet?
Can you start asking DS questions about it? Sometimes I'll do that with DD and it'll spark a memory. Like she'll tell me she was playing in the coat closet while I was in the shower and behold her blanket is trapped in there.

Ugh, we haven't found him. DH went to FAO Schwarz and they are out of him. Got all his details and found him on amazon. We've purchased two sending them to grandmas house.
DS is now not napping. I'm so tired, I told DH we're getting Whole Foods for dinner.
I've looked everywhere, I literally don't know where else to look?.
Oh no! I can commiserate, DS's lovey is a 10" tall orange stuffed car aptly named Cat. He's an indoor cat too. If you are SURE cat has not left the house, then he has to be there. Try:
-Between the headboard of your bed and the wall -Under your mattress -In the washer, dryer, dishwasher, fridge, check EVERY appliance -Stuffed between the fridge and the wall -In the diaper trash can, kitchen trash can, in YESTERDAY's trash bag. -in between folded clothes in his dresser or closet -stuffed into a dress or pant leg in YOUR closet
Do you have pets? Could your dog have stolen Douglas?
Under your bed Behind a dresser Kitchen cabinet, upper and lower Bathroom cabinets Shoved between some couch cushions Do you have a dog that may have wandered off with it/stashed it somewhere? Yard, porch
Have you taken his crib mattress out & stripped the sheets? We lost something under the crib mattress once. I looked behind & under the crib, but still missed it. Things have also gotten wedged between our mattress/headboard/wall.
In between his bed and the wall In a Tupperware container Inside bowls or pots in the kitchen Between the fridge and cabinets Inside the shower curtain In a bathroom drawer Inside a suitcase Behind curtains
We lost lamb and I swore he was under my bed but had no luck. I searched elsewhere then gave up and bought a new one, driving 45 minutes with a messed up knee (also awesome for searching under bed, had to scoot to the stairs to stand back up). Stupid lamb was found exactly where I looked months later. So my advice is search again where you already looked.
