E's gifts are wrapped and her strider bike from Santa is put together.
My grocery list is OOC with holiday prep. I did put my foot down and told DH if mil wants to parade E to step daughter Christmas Day I'm not feeding them. I'm tired of spending money to entertain shitty people.
We are flying cross country tomorrow with J (19 months). She did really well with 3/4 flights in July but we are flying an hour into her nap so it could be really bad. Or maybe she'll just pass out?
I really really hope DD2 has a better night tonight. She was awake hourly last night and screamed from 1:30 until 3 am. Her naps were shit today unless she was on one of us. Yay 4 month wakeful!
Productive day. I'm officially done with Christmas shopping, C got a haircut, and H and I went grocery shopping while my mom put C to bed. She leaves tomorrow and the ILs get here Tuesday. It's been really nice to have the help.
We are watching Love Actually and eating Blue Bell Christmas Cookies ice cream. Yum.
We put E to bed tonight without realizing that a half of her stuffed animals weren't in there (she sleeps with a plush sophie, seahorse, baby stella, and big and little fox). Cue hysterical sobbing for FOXY! FOXY! FOXY! We found both big and little foxy 20 minutes later shoved into our bedding. I don't know what started this fascination with them, but note to others, don't let your kid take 5 things in the crib with them. Chances of being misplaced are much higher, lol.
MIL asked us to do our Christmas shopping this year. She gave me $100 for each of us. I bought myself a nice papersource calendar, a metal hanging thing for the wall, 2 books, and a piece to my nativity set. She called me said it didn't look like I bought enough/spent all my money. I have a feeling she has been thinking she spent $100 on everyone for the past several years and really spent like $150 or $200, LOL (and there are a lot of us, 4 kids, 3 ILs, 6 grandkids, plus all the adults get cash + a big check).

I am so behind in preparing for Christmas.
I am supposed to be doing the final bits of shopping tomorrow including all groceries for Christmas Eve/Day (two brunches) and our food for the next week. I have no list made and I don't even know what's in my fridge. Ugh.
Our twins sleep in RnP at night. I want to try and get them transitioned to the crib soon. H just put DD in her crib on her tummy on top of a blanket I had to explain to him the "rules".
I think J has officially moved bedtime back to 8:30. I am not pleased with this development but it is easier to let her go to bed easily at 8:30 then fight it and cry for 45 minutes at 8:00.
This is us now It's painful bc I really miss that solo time I used to have after he'd go to bed
You guys, I am in denial that bedtime will be 7:00 until, like, kindergarten. Right??

We are ready for Christmas and leave around 5:00 am tomorrow morning. I'm so excited. The van is packed and ready to go. We are going to leave whenever O wakes up to nurse and then we'll get H and hopefully do most of the drive with them sleeping. DH gets up for work at 5:00 normally so it's not a big deal for him.
So excited to introduce O to my extended family and friends!

Kids with the IL's all day and spending the night. So I had a super productive day with my mom and painted 3 rooms.
Now we are at some friends house watching the 49er game. Even though it's reaking havoc on the MMM pick'em league, I'm sooooo happy they are playing like the Niners should.
tonight was the first night we put the girls down without pacifiers. They are 15 months and have only had them while in the crib since they were a year, it only took 15 minutes to stop crying and maybe another 10 minutes to fall asleep so I call it a success! We are most worried for nap time without them since they often don't nap long anyway, it'll be ok though, right?
AJ and I had a peaceful little day-we took naps at my parents', then we all went to the mall so I could pick up a jersey for J that I'd put on hold and so my dad could find excuses to buy AJ another pair of shoes at Stride Rite and another winter coat at Children's Place (the main excuse was that everything was on sale). Plus I finally found the Michaelangelo stuffed TMNT ball to complete AJ's set, so I'm calling today a success.
guys no need to make me feel even worse telling me how all your kids go to be at 7!
Lol. To be fair, my kindergartner has always been a night owl and if given a choice would stay up much later. She's just finally reached the age where I can set a stack of books on her bed and say, "See ya in the morning!"
What is this 7 or 8 pm bedtime trickery? I know nothing about this.
I can count on one hand the number of times DD has gone to sleep at 8 pm. It was actually 8:05 pm and it has happened three times. Twice when the in-laws were around, and the third time I remember taking an impromptu trip to Target just because I could.
Then again, if your kids are waking up at 6 am with 7 pm bedtimes, then KOKO. I can't get up at 6 am so I'm good with an 8 am wake up and a 9 pm bedtime. If only she'd go to bed at 9 and not 9:45 like it was tonight. If she would drop the MOTNs, that would be like really awesome. It won't happen tonight though because her nose is stuffed.
I am drinking cider spiked with pear brandy and rum. YUMMMMM.
I am done with wrapping and my back hurts. I accidentally purchased a roll of really thin wrapping paper, the kind that tears if you look at it funny. RAGE.
Staying in a hotel room with 2 adults and 2 kids is a slow torture. So far the toilet has been stopped up, found a used dog toy and tooth brush in the floor and I've gotten peed on. Dd1 also pooped and somehow got it all over her pants which is stinking up the room. And dh is snoring to high heaven. Now I remember why life has been so good at home, he's been sleeping in the den so the baby doesn't wake him up and it's wonderful, no snoring
Eta, and I'm getting a clogged duct. It's gonna hurt like hell in the morning. I can tell. 8 more hours of actual driving tomorrow...plus our million stops.

We took DS to see the new Hobbit movie today in imax. He was so excited, it was a great little outing and a chance for him to get some 1-on-1 parent time.
My kids have never gone to bed before 9 in the absence of illness or super busy days. At least they sleep in well
I'm about to lose my fucking mind with dd. Getting her to eat and/or sleep is a battle everyday lately. I thought we had gotten over sleep training but she just wants to be held or slept with all of the damn time. I can't even drink yet because it is 9:30 and she is not down yet. FML
My child is going to bed at 8:30, waking up at 6:15, and STTN 50% of the time at 2.25 years old.
But. She is adorable.
I told DH this next baby is going to be the one who sleeps well from the start. He replied that if we got a child who actually slept well before two he would ask for paternity testing
We had to cancel our date night (holiday party) because Dd was sick all day. I felt bad leaving her and also, I am exhausted as all heck after taking care of her, plus DS.
I feel like she didn't get sick this often when we only had one kid.
