A friend of mine has had a gastro bug for 2 days. One of her kids just finished puking, the other has been ok but is on antibiotics for something (I think strep). Her husband has diarrhea (ya, I didn't need to know that).
She took them to a grocery store tonight to do a cake decorating thing for Christmas. She said it was fun but both her kids were coughing a lot.
I've quarantined my family so we don't catch anything before Christmas (there is some nasty stuff going around). Guess what I have... a low grade fever and Sore throat despite being quarantined. I blame the children in my son's class since I volunteered Friday morning for the holiday party
People like this annoy me to no end. I'm not nice about telling them to stay home.
I basically told her she's an idiot. And selfish. I was a bit nicer than that but I was like why would you go spread your germs around? I'm missing a Christmas today because I've been sick for 4 days. I'm mostly better today but I don't want to risk getting anyone else sick. I'm sending Tupperware to get leftovers. Lol.
This is why we get pissed at people who either insist on coming in to work sick or won't let their staff work from home (or just take a damn sick day) when they're ill.

I think the only time I've taken a sick kid out with me was when she needed medicine & it was just us b/c H was out of town. We needed food too, but I ordered delivery & called it a day.

Ugh, people suck. Stay home when you are sick!!! Everyone should have to watch the episode of myth butters about how easy germs get on everything when one sick person is in the room. Gross.

Ooh think I could find this online? I would totally share it on FB.
Ew. I nearly lost my mind with cabin fever earlier this week bc DD2 barfed and I wasn't going to risk taking her anywhere. It's not fun to be stuck at home but you DO IT so you aren't a shitty human being! WTF?!
I am sure this is why this parent decided to do this.
I'm a total germaphobe too, but I feel like if everyone was able and did abide by the "stay home until your a totally symptomless" the entire retail economy would likely collapse during the winter.
I also try not to worry too much because of the unfortunate fact that most people are highly contagious before they even have any symptoms so we are all fucked anyway if we want go out in public.
