It was boring and I kept waiting for something huge to happen. I felt like there was an air of suspense hanging over the whole episode and then.....nothing. I feel like last week would have been a better season-ender and this episode should have started next season.
Yeah, it was a weird ending for such an action packed season. I am scared Quinn is going to die and Carrie won't be able to tell him she does want to be with him. WTF is Saul doing??
@wise_rita -- have you watched The Americans? I think of it as an "if you like Homeland, you'll like..." show, and it comes back for its third season in January.
Agree it was boring. I was very disappointed with the lazy writing of Carrie learning she can be loved just as Quinn goes off on a mission. LAZY! I would like to think half-brother Tim's father is someone cool, but I doubt it since I don't think the family had any connection to the characters we know until Carrie was out of college and at work.
Saul was willing to kill himself to avoid going back to being captive and willing to not be traded for prisoners, so I can't imagine he suddenly did a 180 to negotiate with the terrorists, especially the one that just held him captive and blew up his motorcade in order to distract from attacking the embassy.
I have to ask... does anyone else think Carrie's mom looks like she's had some work done? I was a bit distracted.
I thought they did a good job with the romance story (holding off all season), but part of me wants her to "not need a man" and go back to being awesome on her own (or even with a kid now).
Though I don't quite get what Dar Adal and Saul are up to at the end that leaves Carrie so shocked. And why was Dar Adal in the car at the end of the previous episode? They didn't say how he ended up in there, sitting there like he was just part of the crew.
I almost always find the penultimate episode to be better than the finale. The finale didn't blow me out of the water, but it will be interesting to see where they go from here.

And of all people, Carrie should know this!! why she had a snit and ran out.... good grief, Carrie. This is SAUL. Talk to him.

But maybe Saul is so desperate to get back in, he'll do anything to make it happen.
I'm more confused about Haqqani being removed from the hit list. What did the US get in return??? Just the video of Saul? A promise not to harbor terrorists? Like someone said, HE IS the terrorist.

What was the video? I don't remember one being made.
They better have a good plan with this, because no way in hell would the CIA cavort with a man who personally slaughtered many Americans IN the U.S. Embassy.
