I read the Vanity Fair article on Kate and it talked a lot about how they lead somewhat of a normal life in their cottage, with only their bodyguards and a part-time cleaning lady.
The article also talked about the lengths he has gone to to make the Middletons feel welcome. I guess this never happened with Diana's family, but he vacations with them, and they attend events in the Royal Box (hee hee), which is typically not heard of. He also gave up his ticket to a tennis event at one point so Kate could go with Pippa.
The article also said they get tons of clothing and product deliveries every day, and due to her position, they must return in all. It is estimated that Prince Charles has spent over $55,000 on her wardrobe the first 6 months of their marriage - since William is only earning a $68,000 salary from the R.A.F. He did recently inherit about $15 million in estates, but the article did kind of confuse me - he's royalty, doesn't he have some badass royalty form of a trust fund? Probably, but that may not be public knowledge.
