Hey ladies, don't let them get to you. If you want to drink Red Bull or Diet Coke/Pepsi, then do so. Does it bother you that they're commenting on it?
Just an FYI: I chose to give up Diet Pepsi almost a year ago. It was affecting the enamel of my teeth, plus I know it's not good for bone density. And I knew it was dehydrating me, so I started drinking much more water, gave up the soda, and I haven't regretted it since. It was easy because I WANTED to give it up. Not because someone lectured me. lol
So the moral of this story is if you want to give it up, do so. But only because YOU want to give it up--not because of someone's lecture series. : )

I am so addicted to caffeine. I can't function without it (having a child who, for a year and a half, refused to sleep made matters eleventy-billion times worse). I didn't have nearly enough caffeine this weekend, and I could hardly keep my eyes open by about 1 p.m. every day.
I try giving it up, but my work suffers, my parenting suffers, everything around me pretty much suffers. I hate being so dependent on it.
I feel no need to give up caffeine in the morning. It doesn't affect my driving, my relationship with my kids, my work performance...none of that. Caffeine is not bad for you--honest!

I have a sleep disorder and I'm not prescribed my waking medication as a daily thing yet. So some days I rely on caffeine and I usually take it in the form of diet Rockstars. It's not awesome for me, but if THIS is the only vice I have left? Just leave me to drink them in peace.
Also, to the OP, diet coke doesn't have calories but it is scientifically shown to affect the brain chemistry. It can make you crave sugar, and it affects your insulin levels. That being said, they should eff off and leave you to drink your Diet Coke in peace. As long as you aren't downing liters a day, I'm preeeeetty sure you're just fine!
