Dude, you don't have to bring that much food for a potluck. lol If everyone is supposed to bring something, you need only bring enough for your family plus some to share.

Pasta. Giant pots of sauces and noodles. So people can put on their amount of sauce and so the noodles don't get soggy. I usually do spaghetti an meat sauce and fettuccine an chicken alfredo sauce. I use those giant roaster pots to keep it all warm.
if you're concerned about having enough, why not have a few different kinds of dips, instead of just more hummus?
I'm sure there will be other kinds of dip there. I'm not sure where you're getting that hummus would be the only one. I said it was the one I was going to make.
I was just looking for ideas of what to make for such a large group, since a lot of the people attending won't be bringing very much.
sorry, i wasn't trying to pick a fight. my suggestion was influenced by my own lukewarm feelings about hummus. do what you want.
i gravitate to cheese and fruit trays while grazing at parties.
Ha. I didn't assume you were trying to fight. And apparently my hangover must be affecting my ability to communicate because it seems people think I'm upset, which is very far from the truth.
It's just that there will probably be 150 drunk guests for a 12 hour long party, and about 20 of us will be bringing the vast majority of the food, so I was looking for new ideas of what to make.

What about nachos (crock pot of cheese, store bought chips, and some toppings like olives, green onions, tomatoes, refried beans, etc). For dessert, you could buy a bunch of smores fixings, which would require no prep. If people are drinking they probably won't mind that the marshmallows aren't toasted
