So I am 8 weeks today and went in for my first ultrasound and the dr saw twins!!! I have one son and never imagined having twins. Now the scary part (besides the fact that I was blindsided with twins) the dr said one baby was perfect and had a great heartbeat and the other baby's heartbeat is stop and go and was really slow (he wouldn't give me a number) he said anything can happen at this point.
I don't know what to think at this point, I never wanted twins but then again I never thought I would have them, I don't want to get excited about the second baby and then lose it.... I guess I'm rambling and just want thoughts and prayers

Congratulations! I didn't have a u/s til 12w so I'm not familiar with earlier u/s but I wish you all the best. I can understand having mixed feelings to the twin news; it's a shock!
I just posted on MMM but I'll post here too. All of your feelings are normal. It's an emotional rollercoaster. My girls were spontaneous, and now we know identical, twins so I certainly never expected to have twins. But once they told me there were two babies I wanted them both to be ok. But I was also terrified. I had so many worries and feelings to sort through. ((Hugs)) I hope all is ok with the second baby and that it just needs some time to grow.

Twins are definitely a shock - my husband's eyes were as big as saucers when our Dr informed us we were having two babies.
I'll be thinking lots of positive thoughts for you and your babies. Please keep us posted on how you're doing and feel free to get any thoughts out here - we've all been there!

We were shocked, scared and in disbelief over the news we were having twins too. It is all normal, we found out at 12 weeks so I am not familiar with the earlier scans. I hope that your second u/s goes well. T&P
