Plus, to get back to the op...I feel like there are so mnay newbies on this board now, or at least oldies with new names that I can't keep track of, and that could lead to the tone shift as well.

I think you nailed it Tef with all the mod stuff...lot's of chef's and sous chef's and then prep cooks and then prep cooks for the prep cooks..I also am having trouble following the flow with all the new names and newbies

Yup. It's surprisingly the same when you don't think of it as different.

It's just the thing most people are interested in talking about right now is the defection. But the board was kind of dead before that anyways.

I'm not making any promises, but I feel like it's a fresh start and I'm trying to be nicer. I think we just haven't hit our rhythm yet. Most of the threads have been about the board (this one and thenest). We're just starting to get into the topical stuff again. I'm not worried. I think this site is really great and I'm just hoping people stick it out and let the nest be what it is. I agree. The dynamic is different, but not all bad. It's hard to manage tons of users and I think those that are are doing a pretty decent job. I'm not going to agree with everything, but at the end of the day I really don't care.
