Also, as board members here there are more opportunities for power struggles, because unlike on The Nest there's a chance to discuss and control certain features and functionality. The likelihood of power struggles and power trips is higher.
It was directed at both of you and all other OH peeps. When in July? I'll be there the last two weeks of the month.
Looks like the festival is July 20-22. I still need to confirm my participation again this year with the organizers, but I'd say it's a highly definitely maybe that I'll be there.
People are still puffed-up over the perceived victory. It'll settle.
Yes to the Ohio GTG!
I think this is totally it. Plus I think more people are posting more, which always changes things. I know that I have posted WAYYYYY more since we moved over here.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."

I don't know what I think of all your "fancy" talk.

I referenced this in my post about the sub boards. I agree.

Dude, is it bad that I am kinda mesmerized by your sig? lol

I just agreed with you in the sub-boards post, so there's all sorts of agreeing going on up in this piece.
I am mesmerized by Tef's sig as well. That little girl is going big, yo! lol
And for the record, were I to be global mod, I plan to do exactly shit unless someone's personal info is up there or some other sort of really, really important deal. I am not that much of a vindictive bitch that I think anyone deserves shady shit just over some petty ass internet squabble. And I think all internet squabbles are petty, btw.
I don't think all are out for power, but these odd threads on mods, super mods, mega mods...it is getting to be overkill, imo. The interwebz are serious, yo!
Plus, to get back to the op...I feel like there are so mnay newbies on this board now, or at least oldies with new names that I can't keep track of, and that could lead to the tone shift as well.

I think you nailed it Tef with all the mod stuff...lot's of chef's and sous chef's and then prep cooks and then prep cooks for the prep cooks..I also am having trouble following the flow with all the new names and newbies
I think there is more cross-board pollination, or mingling if you will, than before. I think that's a good thing, although I doubt it will last.
Don't go, copz!
I agree. On here, all the boards are so easily accessible. I'm all over the place, posting wherever. I guess I can see how that could annoy the regulars on those boards but I am enjoying all the different topics... It's not as cliquey, I guess.

I used to lurk a lot more, but with the change I feel more comfortable posting, even if it's just 2 sentences. I - obviously - like some of the new dynamic.

This exactly. However, I'm so lost on a few of the boards' acronyms.

I'm not making any promises, but I feel like it's a fresh start and I'm trying to be nicer. I think we just haven't hit our rhythm yet. Most of the threads have been about the board (this one and thenest). We're just starting to get into the topical stuff again. I'm not worried. I think this site is really great and I'm just hoping people stick it out and let the nest be what it is. I might even eventually journey back over there if I want to have a change of pace, post something that will be censored to all hell, and then pinned to Pinterest using a picture of my daughter. Weeeee... nesting.
Yeah, I noticed the first couple days were full of off-topic posts. Which in a way was a nice bonding experience. When I saw someone post an actual politics-related article about 3 days in, it was kind of a shock.

I agree. The dynamic is different, but not all bad. It's hard to manage tons of users and I think those that are are doing a pretty decent job. I'm not going to agree with everything, but at the end of the day I really don't care.

I haven't opened any of the mod posts recently because I don't really care who the mod is or what their powers are. Now with this post I am wondering if I need to read to understand what in the world people are talking about.
