Rift anyone?

I'm downloading Rift because I saw it was free on Steam. I don't have a lot of experience with MMOs, but I'm bored with my current game, Guild Wars 2.  Has anyone here played Rift?

I played Rift for a while, very amazing game just a lot of Drama in the guilds on it. Definitely one of the better free MMO's out there.

I played it earlier this year. I loved it. The story and game-play while leveling are really fun.

I started playing and am now level 6. I'm not used to traditional MMOs at all and found the controls a bit awkward. The WASD thing is new to me. I think I need to adjust the camera speed or mouse speed or something as well, it's a bit choppy for me. It was a relief just to get out of the starter area lol.

I tend to be a slow learner with these things, but I anticipate that I'll get the hang of it eventually .

You'll get the hang of it! I usually find it a bit easier to control my movement with my mouse and use my left hand for executing moves/spells/whatever (So I don't use WASD for movement). And definitely play around with the settings. My H and I use different settings. If I try to play with his setup I get annoyed very quickly.

I've done both. WASD becomes your best friend in raids int he later part of the game. Once you get use to it tons of MMO's will be very easy to you. Research your skill tree's for what you wanna do. What class did you choose?

I'm a Defiant eth huntsman/ranger. I know I use a bow lol. My H helped me change some of my settings, so the camera movement is much smoother now.
