JCPenny has some Pottery Barn knockoff slipcovered sofas that are moderately priced. If you're near Belfort out in Sterling it's worth checking out, though I don't know their prices for sofas, but their "Basics" store across the street from the main show room has some good prices on things.
We have the Ikea Ektorp regular sofa and have been pretty happy with it. The best part is that the slipcovers are so inexpensive and surprisingly good quality. The cost of the entire sofa was cheaper than replacement slipcovers at a lot of stores.

i have the karlstad sectional sofa. it's held up pretty well with an almost 2 yr old on it
