Yay!!! And heads-up, even though the whole point of the article is that the producers don't give out spoilers, I think there's kind of a hefty one in there!

So what am I missing? I couldn't figure out if there is some massive spoiler hint I'm overlooking?
I got from the article that there will be season 4 AND 5, season 4 will be 4 episodes, and the Christmas episode (which the just started filming) is original, not from the novels.

I've seen a lot of speculation about what will happen with "Baby Watson" (if it is in fact, Baby Watson, John's baby, and not the kid of that other guy). Mark Gatiss says in the story that we "will see the child," so apparently there will be no convenient late pregnancy loss or stillbirth or whatever to finesse the baby off the show. And I guess you can read what you want into the phrasing...the interviewer refers to baby Watson and Gatiss says "Mary is expecting a baby" and refers to "the child" but doesn't use the "Watson baby" terminology. :-)
They spent a good few minutes of the The Sign of Three episode introducing us to Mary's ex (David, I think?) -- mentioning how he was still into her, how he had set up Facebook alerts for when she posted, Sherlock warning him off of contact with Mary with his psychopath's smile, etc. Speculation is that he might be the baby-daddy, as a way to extricate John from the situation without killing off the kid. Don't know if that's wishful thinking on the part of fans who just want to see John-and-Sherlock-back-at-Baker-Street, though.
