I will send a quick one if I am sitting at a light. I always put it down before moving again. It is illegal here. I don't know what the consequences are, it JUST became illegal.
ETA: I looked it up. It went into effect in March and there is a $50 fine. There's no fine for talking on a cell yet.
It's illegal here. I also think it's so selfish to be texting, browsing the internet while driving. It's dangerous, how can you truly be concentrating on driving when you are busy texting?
illegal and no i don't. though my software upgrade has the feature to talk turned to text. it doesn't work and i shouldn't toy with it in the car for sure.
I don't know if it is illegal here or not. It is in North Carolina and I saw a TON of people doing it.
I do talk on the phone while driving, but I won't text and drive. If I need to send a message, I pull over to a parking lot or side street, but I rarely do that because nothing is ever really urgent enough for me to take the time on the trip to deal w/ via text.
I sometimes do it when I m at a stop light. But I never do it when the car is moving and I never do it when my son is in the car. It is illegal here but I don't know what the fine is.
It is illegal here, there is a $250 fine. Even when it wasn't though I wouldn't do it, it's too distracting. I even hate talking on the hands free in our car, I notice my driving gets worse so I ask if it's important and if not I call back when I'm home, if it is I find a safe place to pull over.
The analogy I heard is what would you say if I asked you to close your eyes and count to 5 while driving? Probably that it's crazy and no you won't do it. So why are you willing to look away from the road to read something?
I don't text while driving. It recently became illegal here, though I don't know what the fine is. The closest I've ever come is texting while waiting for a train to pass.
