First project of 2015! I gave my 6.5 year old's room a mini makeover today. The 9-cube shelves that held his toddler toys when he was younger weren't really working for us now, and it was time to move the play kitchen into storage.
I moved everything out of his room, purged a bunch of stuff, reorganized, and then rearranged to make the room function better. The bookshelves and one of the Trofast units were new additions.
Trofast units from Ikea for his Lego collection. They're all sorted by color. I'm glad to have them out of my family room! I'm making a corkboard to hang on that wall . I have the frame finished but need to glue down the cork.
The map has pins for all the places we've visited.
Not a huge room, but I'm hoping it'll work for him!
Those organized legos would last about 5.5 seconds in my house lol. I really like the organization, though, so hopefully your kid is better than mine are.
We have that quilt in crib size. It's getting retired soon after 7 years of use - it's held up well and is totally why I bought new PBK quilts for the new room.
One of the Trofast units lived in our family room for the past year, so it's not an entirely new system for us. Just expanded it to accommodate new Legos and moved it to reclaim my family room. The kid is pretty serious about his Legos and sorts them himself. He likes to build and rebuild sets, but he likes to make his own stuff, too. Sorting by color seems to work best for the way he plays.
You're inspiring me and I wonder if I should do this with DD's room... Her room is tiny tho and there aren't really any other places to go with things... I wonder what I would work up...
It looks awesome! I really like the bookshelves set up. I've been wanting to do that in dd's room but I'm terrified of her pulling them on to herself! Do you have yours anchored to the wall?
