Day 4 and still feeling good. DH made nomnompaleo's garbage stir fry with curried cabbage last night, and OMG. So freaking delicious. I can't wait to have the leftovers for lunch today. Breakfast is egg casserole, and dinner will be turkey burgers with sweet potatoes and salad.
It has been an adjustment not to feed my work boredom with mindless afternoon snacking. I've been making a cup of hot tea instead to have something to look forward to.
Day 8! I felt great yesterday, no headache, clear mind, lots of energy. I even made my kids blondies for their tea party and had no temptation to lick the spoon or nibble on the blondies. Amazing. Still a little bloated, and not impressed by what the scale says (yes, I know we're not supposed to check the scale until the end).
Today is a busy day for me, so probably no exercise save for some planks and stretches.
Eats: B - kale smoothie and either fried eggs or frittata L - Leftover chicken with a salad D - Lamb chops, roasted cauliflower and roasted kale
Has anyone had any skin issues in the beginning of the Whole 30? I know most people tout clear skin at the end, but I've been breaking out which is not normal for me. Almost like my body is ridding itself of the toxins? I'm just going to power through I guess.

I am just starting my day 4. I woke up and feel good. I am excited to try monkey salad. I keep hearing all about it and went to the store to get supplies for it. I have a question about regular potatoes. Like baby reds. Are they approved? I did not think so, but then I saw someone mention they were added.

Yes, regular potatoes are now W30 compliant. I recommend using a bit of caution with them so that they don't crowd out other vegetables on your plate. But especially if you're working out, they're great!
Also, you can't make chips or french fries out of them, obvs
Day 4 for me! Still feeling ok. A little less energy during workouts, so I think I may add a little snack back in before (I work out on my lunch break). Like a PP, I couldn't stay away from the scale- and I'm down 3 lbs- water weight I'm sure but I'm glad to see it! haha. I think I may put our scale somewhere where it won't be convenient for the rest of the challenge.
I'm getting bored with eggs in the morning- so I'll probably bring something different tomorrow instead. Do you guys find you are eating a lot of the same foods? It's just easier for me to pick a few things and eat them throughout the week than coming up with a lot of different options.
Day 5, a little bloated last night but much better today. We hosted a weekly dinner with friends last night and did tacos, but I stuck to my taco salad and managed to not absentmindedly eat any cheese, sour cream or tortilla.
Nothing else this week I'm particularly excited to eat, but I like cooking and am pretty good at picking recipes that I'll like.
martini, I love eggs for breakfast, but I also will change it up with some chicken-apple sausage (there are several compliant brands out there) with sweet potato hash, especially for work since it reheats better than eggs. In general, I do a lot of remixing leftovers to get some variety, like using leftover meat and roasted veggies for salads, or using leftover sides with a TJ's chili-lime burger from the freezer. Today for lunch I'm going to stuff mini peppers with leftover taco meat from last night.
I'm feeling pretty good. Lunch is warming in the microwave. I'm going for a run in an hour or so. (It's damn cold....)
I have a question/confession.
So I'm breaking it this weekend. It's a wine tour things with some friends that I agreed to go on a while ago. I really would like to go since it's going to be a lot of fun. I'm wondering what I should do.
A)Drink and eat with reckless abandon. Start over with Day 1 on Sunday. B)Drink and eat with reckless abandon. Have amnesia and Go on with Day 7 C)Drink with reckless abandon, pack compliant lunch/snacks. Have amnesia and Go on with Day 7. D)Have fun, don't go crazy eating or drinking. Have amnesia and go on with day 7.
I don't have a lot of weight to lose. I'm already in a healthy range so it's just vanity pounds. I'm worried that if I start over, H will finish and then I'll be stuck going Whole 30 solo for the remaining 5 days.
I would probably taste and spit (totally ok to do), and buy bottles of what I liked to have to celebrate the end of your Whole30 later. Eat as compliantly as possible, and bring some back up snack options in case there's really nothing you can make work. Continue on w/ Day 7 afterwards.

That's a good idea. But it's costing me like $63 for tasting fees and the van. I won't have to drive anywhere since my neighbor is hosting. I would like to take advantage of not being a DD. It's been a long time since I did something like this. So it kind of sucks to not take full advantage of it.
I know the right answer is to start over, but I don't wanna .
Day 5 here! I have been having to work really late so I haven't been getting much sleep. My body is exhausted, but my brain just feels so energized and clear. I don't remember the last time I felt so awesome mentally. If I could just catch up on sleep, I can't even imagine how amazing I would feel.
I am really looking forward to lunch Saturday. We are going to have taco salads. It sounds lame, but I really just love salsa and guacamole. I can't get enough of those two things!
Yesterday turned out better than expected. Today we had a delayed opening and I got to sleep in (thank goodness because I've been exhausted!).
mrshandy if it makes you feel better, I will also likely have to break this Saturday too. My girlfriend and I agreed to not exchange gifts and go to dinner instead. So we're going out Sat. night instead (it was supposed to be last week before I started). If possible, I will try to stay compliant (already reading the online menu!) and if not, I'll be back on the wagon Sunday. Jury is still out whether or not I'll start over or not. It will likely depend on what I end up having.

Day 4 Still feeling pretty good. I am also doing a Bikram yoga 60-day challenge right now. I need to look into adding pre and post WO meals, which I have not done before. Either that or more starchy veggies to my regular meals. It is going to be tricky during morning classes because I can't eat within 2 hours of practicing. I definitely need to up my water even more too. I just felt out of energy during class this morning, but that could be due to many different things. And yay my avocados are finally ripe!
B-larabar (bad I know but I ran errands right after yoga) L- 3 egg salad in lettuce wrap and raw veggies, pear D-sweet potato shepherds pie and an avocado salad
Day 4 Feeling good, I had a lot of energy this morning and no headache. I had planned to run, but it was 7 degrees this morning, so my husband and I did some weight lifting. Oddly I haven't felt tempted by junk at the office. I have been extremely thirsty and drinking a lot of water.
B-"chef" salad (minus the cheese), banana after lifting L-green salad with grilled chicken, almond/cashew mix, apple D-salmon filet and sauteed broccoli with garlic
superduper costco has compliant bacon. The Kirkland brand low-sodium does not have bacon. I looked everywhere and this was the only place I could find it.
Day 4. I have realized I can't eat cashews at all, they are a huge trigger food for me. I ate a huge amount of them yesterday and today. But oh well, moving forward.
