Astronaut Marine Biologist (I think every kid goes through this phase) Paleontologist Lawyer Librarian
I'm now a high school English teacher, which is pretty much the last career I would ever have guessed I'd love back when I was in school. With luck I'll be adding adjunct community college faculty to my resume in the next 5 years.
Veterinarian Art Teacher Chemistry Teacher Writer Dietitian
I'm now a respiratory therapist. Hopefully that will change to nurse in the next few years. There's a great second degree nursing program that's a year long I plan on going to when DH gets out of the Navy.

K age: mommy and teacher
Middle school: travel agent (mom's job) engineer (dad's job) marine biologist (I actually fairly seriously pursued this in high school, working with local biologists. I even snorkeled with Jean Michel Cousteau)
So, I went to school for biomedical engineering, halfway through switched to biology. And then I became a corporate technology trainer after finding no research jobs. I still intended to get back into research as I loved my internships in college, but that got derailed with dating/moving/marrying H.
And then, awesomely, we got orders for Guam, and I found a job in marine biology research that was essentially mine once I got there. And our orders changed to Japan. Where I discovered that the shitty options for employment overseas meant I probably needed a more portable career. So, I went back to school for nursing.
I guess it takes a lot of paragraphs for me to answer "what did you end up doing?"
Pro basketball player Special Education teacher Sociologist Early childhood education Teacher EMT Nurse Medical assistant (current pt job)
I put teacher twice because I came back to it and tried it a second time and still didn't enjoy it. I also work at a kennel pt starting next week, though not sure what you would call that position. All in all, I don't know what I will end up doing.
My current dream, is to play beach volleyball in the 2016 Olympics with my sister. Dream big right?
I'm sure there's more, but this is all I remember as a child: gymnast beautician (stylist now, I guess) fashion designer
Late teens: architect family counselor
What I became: 1. BS in family counseling but did not work in the field 2. BSN and Army officer 3. left nursing for a more fun career, became a personal trainer and I'm getting my Masters in exercise physiology
Teacher Secretary Olympic gymnast, ice skater and/or diver Physical Therapist Lawyer PR I wanted to work on a Political Campaign
I wanted to be something different every other month. My degree is in Political Science but I have yet to do a single paying thing with it and am pretty much unemployable now. I'm deciding what to go back to school for but am waiting until we are back in the states.
Marine Biologist (I was actually going to go to college Hawaii and do this, stoopid fear, I could have led an awesome life.) Actress Lawyer Writer Teacher
I am in college to be a writer with a little acting on the side.
Age 5- Ballerina Age 6- Scientist Age 8- Writer Age 9- Artist Age 10- Actress <can't remember aspiring to be anything at this time, probably because we were moving and my parents were separating at this time LOL> Age 15- Marketing Director for a record label or an artist representative Age 16- Television Host Age 17- Agent Age 19- Filmmaker (still want to be one), Photographer, Screenwriter, Journalist, Producer Age 22- Publicist or Personal Assistant for entertainers (also the same stuff from age 19) Age 24- Criminal Investigator (random) or HR Manager- -these were short lived 'thoughts Age 25- Open my own business Age 25- now: Still more interested in everything I loved doing from 19 onward but I'm in school for social services. I'd be interested in being a Talent Coordinator or Production Coordinator. I even liked the idea of being a cosmetologist but focusing more on the FX makeup side of things.
Right now I'm realistic about our situation and certain opportunities aren't available to me at this duty station so I'm focusing on my education for now. I do participate in those fields but I'm not moving back to New York and although I flirt with the idea of L.A or Vancouver, it's not in the cards right now.

I think I remember wanting to be a ballerina when I was little. When I was in high school I wanted to be a forensic scientist and in college I wanted to be an archaeologist or a museum currator.
I'm a SAHM currently. When our youngest baby is in kindergarten I plan to go back to school for something in the medical field (radiology/xray/ultrasound). I also sort of want to go to cosmetology school, but I doubt I'll go this route.

Radiography/Sonography. If my plans work out I will start next August. I can tell you now you have to be certified in CPR and I believe you have to have an algebra class as well. It would look good to have volunteer time on your resume when you apply. It is a very competitive field right now. You might get lucky and have a three year dual degree program in your area. I hope this helps even though you didn't ask for it

Thanks! Its good to know that. It will be a minimum 6-7 years before I consider going back for this. I have a degree, but its in Archaeology (Antiquities, N.A. Studies, Religion, etc). I doubt any of that transfers. Maybe my Algebra class my freshman year will transfer, but I'm not holding my breath
