Baby boy M arrived last Tuesday night via c-section. I was induced at 41w2d. Labored from 5 am to 7 pm, pushed until 9 pm when we decided on c-section. His head was at wrong angle and not descending. He came out with a nice bruise and scratches on the side of his head. He also came out at 9 lbs 9 oz which was unexpected. I may have given my OB a thumbs up and a "thanks for the c-section" while we were still in the OR, lol.
He had low blood sugar shortly after birth so he received IV and formula supplement. We went home on Friday, he has been exclusively breastfed since then, and was within 2 oz of birth weight at his first pediatrician appt. He is a beast.
Recovery for me has been relatively easy. Some soreness, but otherwise feeling good. DH has been amazing throughout everything. I get a little sad thinking that it's not just the two of us anymore. But we have plenty of new adventures ahead as a family of three.
I've been MIA so I apologize for that. Newborns are lots of work...although I'm not sure what I was expecting, lol.
He's adorable ewall! So glad to hear that both you and baby are doing well! I can relate to a lot of your post:). It's definitely quite the adjustment, although completely worth every second. Praying your recovery continues to go well and M let's you get some sleep/rest! ((hugs)). You are doing great mama!
