Dogs an this heat!

How do you keep your dog cool all day long when the heat going to 104+. We keep the house fairly cool so when he is crated during the day it helps but our ac can't keep up in this heat!

We are having the same issue. I put a small fan just outside of her crate aimed at her during the day. I also let her run through the sprinkler and put towles in her crate instead of her fleece bedding that can get hot. The AC helps take the humidity out, but it can only drop the temp about 15 degrees. Hope that helps!

Thanx. We are also having a hard time getting him to be active, and when he is not active he does not sleep at night, which is really hard on me. lol.

oh I hear you! Will he play in the sprinkler or the hose? I have one dog that loves it - the other dog, not so much, but he doesn't need the activity as badly. The sprinkler is the only way I can get her to run around safely in this heat.

We do shorter walks but also try to go to cool new places. For example tractor supply an lowes allow pets do they can go in the AC and practice meeting people and having good manners. We also bump up the obedience training for
Mental stimulation and use more puzzle toys, kings etc.

You may want to look into a swamp cooler jacket. I know ruff wear makes them.
