I've been MIA for the last few weeks getting ready for BlogHer'12 and interviewing for new jobs.
Got back from BlogHer yesterday afternoon after an amazing few days and on Friday I got a call that I landed the job I've been lusting over for months. It's with my friend's firm and I'll be their title company's first NJ employee so I have so much opportunity to set procedures and all that fun stuff.
That is awesome news! So excited for you. I kept following your tweets, you sounded like you had a blast at Blog Her.
I find out today if I have orientation tomorrow for a job. Woo. I will be more MIA than I have been if I am working and in school. Should be interesting.
Kpol, it's not a work at home position which is the only "downside" but it's an easy trade when I can get rid of the catastrophe that I'm constantly working in. The hours are perfect for the setup we have with the sitter too. I really feel like I hit the jackpot.

I'm so glad you had such a great time at Blog Her! And congrats on your new job that's great!
Just been working and figuring some stuff out. I've finally made the decision to go back to school to get a single subject teaching credential for teaching middle school and high school science so I'm excited. I'll be MIA more because of studying for the subject verification exams.
Sweet candy! Congratulations! Sounds like a nice set up.
This past weekend we enjoyed the hottest temps we've had all year. It was in the 90s and boy was it hot! Still nothing compared to that humid, sticky east coast heat so I wasn't miserable. I actually went to the gym :-o and I even went hiking yesterday with P. INSANE. I also pruned my tomato plants this weekend.
I started one of my online classes for this term and the other one starts next week. I've had doctor's appointments twice a week for the past two weeks and that's going to continue on for several months (I'm in physical therapy). We also finally sucked it up and purchased a washer/dryer unit. Yup. We've been doing laundry at a laundromat the two years we've lived here LOL (thanks Bookoo for helping me find a set for under $400).
Um...what else? studying today, more appointments today, gym today (or say I'm telling myself) and a meeting at my H's company tomorrow afternoon. I guess that makes me busy.
Woo-hoo!! Congrats on the job! (now pretty please spread some of that job dust to me; I'm STILL on the hunt)
Glad BlogHer went well; I know you've been excited/nervous about the event.
My brother and his family were in town for a week visting from Colorado, so it was good to see them after almost 2 years. K and I are still trying to figure out the details for our summer vacation; but its looking like a 16 hour drive is in our near future. And the prospect of driving that long with a 5 mos. old is kind of freaking me out.

I bequeath all my job dust to you. I was actually just thinking about you and your search yesterday and was going to ask you how it was going. Any decent leads?
I just read your blog post about BlogHer...sounds amazing. I would love to participate in that one day. My blog needs to come a long way before I can do anything like that.

Honestly it doesn't. They should a bunch of stats at one of the lunches, 13% of attendees didn't even have blogs yet, they were coming to learn before they started.
It's in Chicago next year...I would encourage anyone interested to really consider it.
I met a ton of military bloggers of varying levels, newbies, successful private bloggers, and editors and contributors for several large sites like Spouse Buzz and USAA. Everyone was very nice and interesting.

I've got nothing sadly. Trying to find positions and sending out resumes every time I find something that I feel would be a potentially good fit. Not even so much as a nibble. It's really very frustrating. The only thing I've heard is one "Thank you, but we're filled the position". At least I can know that that position is no longer available and can "move on"!
