Oh no! I am sorry. There is no way she can get into a siimilar program by you? Is this just mental heath or addiction issues also? I hope things work out for the best and her rib heals fast.

Deep breaths, @evelynrichards. I do hope her being in the hospital means she'll be surrounded by people who can help her, both in her recovery from the broken rib (ouch) as well as getting her into the program she needs to get better mentally. Big hugs to you, I'm sure this is the last thing you need right now when you're dealing with so much. How are you doing otherwise?
This is a mental health program, but she's also anorexic and a recovering alcoholic. She is adamant that she continues the program, but I'm not sure how she's going to do that in her state. I'm hoping the hospital it's in will help her come up with a way. I asked her to let me speak to her doctor after she did, and she gave me a maybe.
Her house is back to being a disaster though. When she broke her foot in October, I went down and cleaned it up so she could get around, and now it's back to being the way it was before. I feel so bad for her because she's in so much pain, and I'm terrified she's going to get pneumonia from this.
flex, were you able to get around when you broke yours? I know it's going to vary depending on break and situation.
You can walk but initially it's a slow walk. It's amazing how your balance is a part of your upper body tensing itself so you can be ambulatory. The absolute worst part is moving around in bed or even getting out of bed. Once you're upright, it's not as bad.
ETA: I broke two ribs so maybe it won't be as bad for her, but it's still not going to be a walk in the park. Luckily I didn't develop a cold or a cough while I was healing because a sneeze or a cough would have been excruciating. It's going to take about 4 months for her to feel completely back to normal.

Her program is an outpatient, so she's not actually in the hospital. I'm now getting worried because she's not answering her phone, but she could just be at her program today, or she could still be sleeping. (She regularly sleeps until noon.) flex, she also said she has a terrible cold, so she must be in awful pain right now. Ugh, ugh, ugh.

Oh I'm so sorry Evelyn. Wishing you could catch a little break. In the hospital, perhaps a social worker could arrange for some assistance for your mom. I don't know how old she is or what kind of services are available in her area, but maybe that could take away some of your worries. ((hugs))
