The weekend was great. I'm finally over the worst of the cravings I think and settling into the program. We had friends over for drinks and snacks and I happily sipped on my sparkling water while everyone else indulged. I was a bit envious but it was easier than I anticipated.
My eating is getting a bit repetitive and boring. I'm a creature of habit anyway so I'm mostly OK with it but I will try to branch out a bit this week and try some new recipes.
The weekend was good. I even managed to have dinner with my family without caving. Mom's homemade lasagna and garlic bread- which is one of my favorites! But I ate a salad and had water instead of wine and survived. I do miss a few things, and while planning for some time with DH this weekend my mind automatically went to wine and food... so we need to come up with other date night ideas that don't involve food.

Day 9.
The weekend was good. We did a lot of meal prep so there's chili, chicken salad, HB eggs, homemade jerky, carnitas, smoked chicken, and stuffed peppers on the menu this week. Leftover tikka masala and meatballs too.
I'm so bored with breakfast though. I want a damn muffin or something. Still fighting the "eat dinner food for breakfast" thing I guess.

Day 8 and everything's still good. I had my first whole30 recipe fail. I made the spinach and egg muffins from the website and had to choke it down this morning. Bleah. Also had a homemade sausage party, so that should get me to lunch.
Lunch: leftover piccadillo over cauliflower rice
Dinner: leftover short ribs and potatoes
I've resisted weighing myself, but I'm wearing a shirt that was a little snug around the hips last week and there's plenty of room now. That's kind of awesome.
Day 9. My pants fit better, and I've been sleeping so well.
Good weekend, though I slacked on the food prep a bit and was in the kitchen later than I wanted to be last night, with a little more to do tonight. My parents brought chili over for dinner last night since DH is OOT, and while I picked out all of the beans and gave them to DS (they're his favorite thing ever), I'm sure there was still some beany-ness to the chili. I don't feel any differently today, so I'm going to chalk it up to making the best choice I could at the time and continue on.
Today's menu: B- sweet potato hash, chicken apple sausage, fried egg, clementines L- taco salad with turkey taco meat and shredded chicken, peppers, onions, tomatoes, guacamole, and cumin-lime dressing (made w/ homemade mayo) D- skillet Indian-spiced ground beef, potatoes, peas and carrots S- apples and almond butter if I need one
I want to AW myself for a second. Last week, I was struggling to get food prep done because my workouts were SO very long. So yesterday, I spent almost four hours getting things chopped and ready to go. I was so pleased with myself. I rocked out to Wicked and Twin Forks and old Fiona Apple. It was great.
Open up FB this morning and see that it's test week - my workouts are like 15 minutes all this week.

Day 1!
DH and I just got back from an indulgent and amazing vacation, but my big pants are starting to feel a little snug and my acne has gone crazy. Had some eggs, grapefruit, and avocado this morning. Lunch will be chicken, broccoli, and sweet potato. Sipping on some tea right now
Day 12! I'm at the point where if I cheat I will feel like I wasted all that work, so that's good. I've noticed that I'm sleeping better. As I add alcohol back in it will be interesting to see how that changes. My running times have been slower, which is not so great. I wonder if it's related to eating less carbs.
I've been afraid to look at our grocery spending this month, but I guess we're not going out to eat so it balances out.
Eating today: B - 2 runny eggs over arugula with some pico de gallo and guac L - I made homemade mayo so I'm going to make a salad with some canned salmon and celery D - Salmon Chowder (Everyday Paleo), possibly with a salad if I'm feeling motivated
Rest day - this weekend I did a pilates and a yoga class plus ran 4+ miles.
Over the weekend to eat all this week. Pretty tasty!
Tomorrow i have a work dinner and I picked the lesser of the two evil entree optio s and asked for a double veggie portion instead of rice. The sauce might have soy in it but I am not going to lose sleep or start over. If I avoid drinking and eating the yummy fried and cheese based apps they will have I still claim victory.
I had a great weekend and a fabulous time eating and drinking at the wine tour thing. H decided to use my breaking it to break his too so he could have some beer for the Patriots game. Ha! But the bright side is we're starting over together.
Yesterday afternoon, H worked his ass off to make all the food for us for lunches and breakfasts. We're exhausted but ready.
So Day 2 B - Acorn squash, egg, veggie casserole, coffee L - Sweet potato, leek, and chicken soup, almonds D - Coconut cod with asparagus and green beans (this was kind of a recipe fail, but we gotta eat up the leftovers), probably an apricot or banana
Day 9! I'm down 7.6 pounds so far! Down 1.3 inches on my waist, 1 inch on my bra band, 1 inch on my boobs, and 2 inches on my hips. Everything is finally starting to fit better!
This weekend wasn't long enough. Between me working and studying and my husband working, we didn't have time to go grocery shopping. We will have to see what we can scrounge together tonight.

Fwiw...this soup is really delish. I will make and eat this even off-plan.

Day 12
The weekend was great. I am the only one doing it and I noticed that while my husband does not need 3 meals per day, I definitely would stop what I was doing to make some lunch. Today's menu:
B: egg white, spinach, tomato bake L: taco salad with chicken, lettuce, avocado and salsa D: mustard rubbed pork chops, sweet potato mash, green beans
Day 8. My first week was great. I didn't really feel much temptation, which was a huge surprise. We have been packing lunches and eating at home every night. Last night I went to a friend's, and she had some crackers and snacks out but I got over it quickly.
This week I need to up the ante on my workouts. I feel good but no weight lost this first week.
I've been sleeping a ton! Like, going to bed at 8:30 and sleeping through the night.

Day 8. The last two days have been rough. My gut is a bloated backed up mess. Finally today I drank a green juice and took some Swiss Kriss but that is all I pretty much had all day because I couldn't eat. I was able to have a little dinner. I have been chugging water all along. I remember this from the first time, but this is pretty extreme. So hopefully things kick in and tomorrow is a new day! One positive is my sleep has definitely improved!
