I did this for our England/Paris trip last month. I had blisters after wearing my "walking" shoes on the plane. I spent the rest of the trip in the Roman type sandals. It was okay except for being stepped on on public transportation.
Is there a Crocs store nearby? Don't laugh, the Kadee style (plain ballet flat) is really comfortable!
I think the answer is not yet. I read something the other day about a Pizza Hut Express/Tad's Steaks closing to make way for a Herald Square Crocs store.
There's one in Soho (Spring and Wooster maybe?) but I'm not sure where another one is.
I saw that one when I was there. It was across the street from a Chanel, which made me laugh. Somewhere Coco is rolling in her grave.

I only know the one in Soho. If you're willing to spend a little money, I highly recommend Camper shoes. There's a store in Soho, on Spring Street, I think, but maybe it's Prince. If you're trying to save $, there's a DSW on Union Square that might have some discounted nice walking shoes.
