I hope you get some answers. I'm glad that he hasn't had any more seizures (right?).
You all need a FREAKING BREAK already.
Hes still having spastic movements on the right side and slurred speech, but it's not quite as pronounced as yesterday.
This is probably a dumb question but any chance it might just be a complicated migraine? I have a friend through a migraine community that has symptoms like this (although they only last a few hours).
I hope they find the root of the cause, and that there's an easy fix.
I went through a few years of crazy auro and vision issues after having my heart patched up with an implant. I went in for IV magnesium sulfate every 2-4 weeks for years, and it helped a ton. The auro could be physically debilitating, I had trouble walking, and landed up in the ER several times.
Well it's a relief to know there is nothing immediately harmful physically but it sucks not having an answer and having to do trial an error. Especially with meds.
I hope you figure this out soon and thoroughly. (Hugs)
People with Aspergers can fly blow the radar for a long time; especially if they have comorbid mental health issues that have symptom overlaps. My DS was identified just before he turned 7; my cousin who we always thought DS was a mini-me to, was dxd after at the age of 40. My PCP's quirky older brother didn't get a dx until he was 52 and struggling professionally and in his marriage. I swear my cousin's wife is on spectrum but her primary presenting dx is bipolar and her psychiatrist ascribes all her symptoms and behaviors to that.
I moderate a couple of ASD forums realted to Aspergers and higher functioning forms of ASD. If you have any questions or want book suggestions, page me. I'm sort of surprised they said Aspergers given that it no longer exists in the DSM; it's been subsumed by ASD.
Are they suggesting he has Aspergers instead of his previous condition or in addition to? I've known of a few families where kids were improperly dxd with OCD, ODD, ADHD before getting identified as being on spectrum. Do they think the symptoms that led to his hospitalization are related to tardive dyskenesia?

This is a good question, I have a cousin who suffers from these, although I don't think she's had one quite this severe (she has had a post partum stroke, though). Does Forrest suffer from migraines?
No, the Abilify is known to cause these symptoms in very rare cases (Pisa Syndrome) and since it's exceptionally rare, that's probably what he has. Lol.
In any case, it's the most likely culprit so they're eliminating it first to see if it helps. He's had a few doses withheld already and it seems slightly better today.
He would go for the obscure side effect. I'm so glad he's improving already. One of my friend's DS's had priapism related to Abilify- poor kid was about 14 and mortified to discuss with his parents. Fortunately it ended well. First I'd ever heard of that one.
