80th AA International Convention in Atlanta this July

For those of you who are AA'ers or Al-Anon'ers:  are you going to the International Convention?  

I'll be there, so if you are going, would you like to plan a GTG?

I have thought about it, but my budget is pretty tight so I don't know that it will happen

I might! I didn't make the last one but I made the three before that. I had 4 months of sobriety when it was in Califonia- it really kick started my sobriety. I will ask around and see if any of my friends are thinking of going.

I think it would super if some of us could GTG at the convention! I'm getting there a day or two early so I can kind of check the area out.

krisandgrace I went to the one in Seattle in 1990, and then one in San Antonio in 2010. Talk about spiritual experiences!

Are hotel rooms still available? My friend is going, but she said the hotels were pretty filled at this point. I wouldn't want to have to commute from a hotel in Alabama!

I think there are still rooms available but the hotels closest to the convention center has been sold out for months. I think my hotel is 6 miles away and I made my reservations in October--a month after registration began.

I need to find out if my H is thinking about going. He hasn't mentioned anything about it, so I'm not sure he's aware it's happening in Atlanta this year. (It is in Atlanta, right? What's the name of the convention center?)

I would love to get together and meet anyone who can make it!

Haven't posted much here, but I'm going. Booked it the day tickets became available and got a hotel downtown.
