Was it worse than being sick any other time? Any concerns?
Everyone is getting strep or the flu in my office. I talked to one of my employees yesterday at his desk and he is home sick today. Two coworkers had the flu last week; another left early today. Now, I have a terrible cough.
They say it is more riskier if you are pregnant, but how risky?
I had like 3 colds in first trimester, it was no fun. They lasted longer than usual too. I know you are more likely to get sick when pregnant due to your lowered immune system, but I don't know if it's more serious otherwise.

I had a stomach bug while pregnant twice. It was particularly awful because a) ds1 started throwing up the same hour I did, and b) I also had terrible morning sickness at the same time. Thankfully dh was recovered and able to take care of ds1.

I got the stomach flu while pregnant which was bad bc I ended up w preterm labor.
The part that sucks when you are sick and pregnant is you already probably don't feel great to begin w and then add sickness on top of that. Also you are limited in the meds you can take.
Rest and hydration are important and calling your doctor w any concerns.
FWIW I was exposed to flu, strep, and all kinds of other nasties while pregnant without getting sick. I only got sick when H did.
I have a sinus infection and am on antibiotics right now, at 9 weeks pregnant. I remember being sick during my first pregnancy. I think colds are pretty normal, but I hear that flu during pregnancy is terrible.
I had strep 3 weeks ago, at about 30 wks pregnant. I actually didn't feel SO terrible, & a z-pac cleared it up. I was more concerned about DD1 & my H getting it on Christmas than how I was feeling.
I can imagine the flu being harder, but I don't have any experience (yet, fx).
I had a 24 hour bug in my 3rd trimester and it was horrible. I think it would've been horrible even if I wasn't pregnant though. I was throwing up and couldn't keep anything down so I was worried about dehydration and called the on-ca OB. It worked out fine and I recovered.
I also had an ear infection when I delivered DD. That was painful. Turns out ear infections in adults typically are extremely painful (my doctor told me after). Again, I think it would've been just as painful if I wasn't pregnant.
I had a cold/sinus thing right at the intersection of trimesters 1 - 2. Shockingly, it went away faster than usual, despite not being able to take meds and flying back from Europe during it.

I had the stomach bug from hell. Immunosuppression is no joke! It was the same sort of thing that I normally kick within 36 hours, but it lasted for two weeks when I was pregnant.
That being said, it was not "risky" as I didn't have a high fever or a dangerous infection. It just sucked.
I've been sick since Thanksgiving basically. I'm convinced I have no immune system left thanks to this fetus. I've had a sinus infection/cold/asthma flares basically nonstop. I've done five different antibiotics and two different steroids to kick it with no luck. I eventually got an RX for Vicodin because Tylenol wasn't helping my sinus headaches at all and I couldn't function. Last week it was a double ear infection.
I also had the stomach bug right around my BFP. I thought it was pregnancy related but then H got it too.

I was SO sick the last few weeks. During labor, the nurse and my husband would take turns holding a puke bucket. I ended up pushing her out during a sneeze so no one was really prepared for it. My husband was like "uhm?" And the doctor turned around and caught her.
I was not worried, and I wasn't more sick than I had been while not pregnant. I would stay away from co-workers, use Purell liberally and wash your hands often.

I had a UTI right before my BFP and took an anibiotic
Now I have a terrible sinus infection, I tried to suck it up but it got bad so I'm on an antibiotic now for it. I'm not thrilled with taking it pregnant but like the doctor said, better to have a pregnancy safe antibiotic in my system than all the germs and infection.

lol, I was waiting for Brie to reply..
I was sick with #1 but only once I think, it was strep, I got antibiotics, that's it.
This time? I have been perpetually sick…just a cold, that brings on post-nasal drip, that gives me a sore throat, that sometimes goes to my chest. I am on round 4. All I ever take is Nasonex to clear up my sinuses.
It doesn't worry me, it is just exhausting. Worse than usually because my immune system is sick. Oh, and I keep passing it back to my kid, and she passes it back to me…on and on an on...

I was super sick and needed an inhaler because I couldn't kick the cough. Sick again when the kid was a few months old. And now I'm living the same life all over again with a cough that I can't get rid of.
