How bad was it to make you decide to look into meds?

Dozer is an absolute mess at the first clap of thunder. He has a thundershirt (I put it on him today several hours before the storm began) and he's had Rescue Remedy. I'm home so he's just whining/pacing/panting but I know that if we left the house he would flip out and start tearing stuff up.

Sadie literally shakes from the first hint of a storm. Her tongue hangs low and drools everywhere. If it's going to be a long lasting storm I will medicate her so she can relax some. I'm trying these calming tabs that they were selling at a dog show they may help just a little. She also has a thundershirt but it doesn't really help at all. RR does nothing for any of my dogs.
