I'm going to cry - Cat urine

Just venting...

My 9 year old male cat freaked out with my pregnancy hormone changes and started peeing all over my apartment. There was nothing wrong with him (I had $700 in vet bills to prove it) and we got it under control using a calming collar, feliway, cat attract litter, professional pet cleaning of my apartment etc.

DH and I went away for the weekend, and during that time he peed on my small rug at the front door. The entire entry area smells like cat urine now.

I am in the process of treating it with Nature's Miracle, Fizzion, vinegar and baking soda and maybe even bleach, but I might just have a good cry tonight. I feel like I am NEVER going to conquer his peeing problem.

I use a black light and got pee. It works much much better than natures miracle.

We normally do have my sister or my SIL look in on them when we go away, but everyone was out of town this past weekend and I figured it was "only" two days. Ha. Lesson learned.

Good point about the prozac. My boys have their annual appointment next month, so I'll probably talk with the vet about it then.
