I just found a friend willing to loan me her stash if we decide to switch! However dh just fed her with the bottle and is unconvinced, so we are back at square 1 at the moment.
the problem is she is leaking formula out the corners of her mouth. She always has but it got really bad the last week. I love love love our Tommee Tippee bottles but she is soaking a bib at every feeding right now. Some feedings are worse than others.
either the slow flow nipple isn't slow enough or she's just not latching to it right. Also she falls asleep while eating and I think forgets to swallow, then sucks again, and pushes it out.
feeding this baby is serious work, good thing she is cute.
I was so excited to receive mine in that little gift bag a few weeks ago. I went in to buy a belly band, and walked out with a baby bottle as well. It sure made things feel real!
If you get desperate, the mOmma (by Lansinoh) nipples fit on the Avent bottles. I can hold the bottle with the slow-flow mOmma nipple on it upside down and shake it (gently, obviously) and not have any milk come out. DD hates bottles, but she hates these the least. I find the mOmma bottles really awkward, so I use the nipples on Avents.
we got a bag with coupons and stuff at BBB when we registered. I'm sure BRU does it too.
with motherhood, I got a bag of coupons and that bottle when I ordered online for the first time, and then another one when I bought something in the store for the first time.
I did use some of the coupons for things like pacifiers, combined with my registry completion coupon.
FWIW, DD really liked the Nuk nipples, and they didn't have any effect on her latch at all (for the short period that I BF...). The tip of the nipple seemed a little smaller, because of the shape... so, she was able to drink really well from it. It's only like $3 for a 2 pack - and they'd work with the avent bottle you have. Might be worth it to pick up a couple of different types of nipples on your next trip to Target... just to give them a try.
