I had a (planned) Sept 2013 baby. I wouldn't say the holidays had anything to do with it. I was ready a few months before the early January conception, but that's where our negotiation landed us. Ever the pragmatist, he wanted all the care/delivery costs to hit in one year (if possible) since we had a high deductible health plan.
If it was planned - why did you plan for this time frame?
I didn't really plan for this time frame, it was more that we had been trying for 14 months and this happened to be when I got pregnant. I am 99% sure I got pregnant on Dec 26th based on charting/timing. We were staying at my in-laws that night but it was during FW and we didn't want to skip. I am glad we didn't! It is kinda funny that this baby was conceived in DH's childhood bedroom though.
I'm due 7/31 and my last baby was born 9/11. I was also born in September and hate it so I was trying to avoid it. I didn't like having my birthday during the first week of school. I always wanted to have a summer birthday.
DD was born in August 2013, and was planned. We were trying for a late spring/early summer baby, because my H was a teacher at the time we were TTC, and had the summers off. But, it took a few months to get pg, and he ended up taking a new job as a school administrator before she was born, so it was a moot point anyway. If you had asked me before TTC, August would have been the LAST month I would want to be due, because I hate to be hot, and didn't want to be that pregnant in the summer.
it's the holidays, I think. L&D/mother-baby units are ridonkulously busy from August-November, thanks to the holidays between November and February. I know I can usually count on getting overtime in the fall if I want it.

Yes, this is what the nurse who taught our childbirth classes said when I told her our due date.
