Sounds like you had a great time! I took @rock-n-voll and UnderProtest's suggestion for tea at the Wolsely and it was great - was the tree still up or had they taken it down - is was kinda cool how they mounted it around the clock.

No tree But there are so many Christmas decorations around London it's hard to see all the cool stuff! Glad you enjoyed your tea experience!
The lights were fantastic, but I was a little disappointed that the window displays were switched over by the time we arrived.

When exactly were you here? I left for Xmas at home by 12/19 and didn't come back until after the New Year so I don't know how long stuff stayed up. They do put stuff up really early here though since there's no Thanksgiving to compete with so I could see them taking it down quickly afterwards.
I did enjoy the window displays. Haven't really seen those since I was a kid.
12/27-1/2 - I think we went to Harrods on the 28th and they were the sale windows.

Glad you had a fun time scm1011!!!! Next time we will have to go to tea at Fortnum & Mason or one of the other really ritzy places! And happy that my kids (or husband) didn't annoy you too much.

Ha, they were all great! And yes, I'm down for fancy tea next time I'm in town. I'll have to remember to bring less scrubby attire next time
As long as it isn't jeans, it works at most tea places. Black pants are pretty standard here. But maybe not the fancy places.

*whispers* both scm1011 and I were wearing jeans at the Wolseley Both black AEO jeggings, LOL (shout out to jenny1980, who is the reason I bought them).
Wow. Never noticed. I guess black trousers of any sort work then.

I'm so jealous of both of you! Glad it was an awesome time, though. I'd say I'd come visit but it'd be a lie. We've had friends living there for over 5 years we've never visited. Way lazy. And all out vacation time seems to be spent visiting family. Boo!
I am also SO happy to hear that my friends had a wonderful weekend.
We missed you! (heart) If you're still in town lets meet up for dinner ASAP!
Umm... the pickings are slim as I leave Saturday and have work things tomorrow and Thursday (unless you can meet tonight?). Eek. I'll be back 2 times already in Feb though.
Um, NO! I think I've finally convinced DH that we're leaving DD at home!
Oops, I thought this was the trip you were taking your mom on. NEVER MIND (though I'm determined to meet mrloretta at some point!).
Nope, sorry, this is the 10th anniversary trip. Mom and I are in a holding pattern as far as trips go. I think I mentioned England to her, can't remember if she was up for it or not. Perhaps I should revisit!

I can't tonight Definitely give me a heads up about when you'll be here in Feb! And drop me a line and give me the details on whats happening when you have a free second!!
I am SO sorry I haven't yet..... I have been so crazed, but I will write you later today.

If I ever make it to London (for more than a crappy airport layover), maybe I should bring along some tea cosies. This place is offering free tea and cake: www.teahousetheatre.co.uk/blog/
(I have no idea if this place is even decent, I'm just amused that they want tea cosies enough they took to Ravelry to make their offer...)
