DD1 turns 4 next month. I'd like to get her a scooter for her birthday. She's never used one, but expressed interest in them last summer. Any suggestions on what to get? I'm not sure if I should get a 3-wheel scooter, or go straight to the 2 wheels. She's very tall for her age and in terms of physical ability, she's pretty mature...not sure if that makes a difference.
DS1 just turned 4. He got a regular Razor 2 wheeled scooter for his birthday and hopped on and went racing around immediately. He had a balance bike at 2 and was on 2 wheels at 3.5...I'm not sure how much that comes into play.
One of his friends has a scooter with two wheels in front and one in back, I think.
Get a mini kick (if you can stomach the cost) for that age..it's so much easier to use & less likely to injure your kid. They are by far my girls fav from ages 2-6yrs. At 6 I buy them a Razor which are much cheaper.

I might go with the maxi-kick if your daughter is tall and well coordinated. A turned 5 in November and we switched to the maxi from the micro. It is a bit heavy, but will last longer. Alternately, you could go with the mini now you can pass it on to your younger daughter, and then get the maxi. (Sorry that is not very helpful)
Kickboard often has sales several times a year if you sign up to get on their email list.
