ABC is shaking things up for its 2012-2013 schedule.
"Revenge" is heading over to Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET, the slot the now dead "Desperate Housewives" occupied up until last week. Old standby "Grey's Anatomy" is staying put, as is "Scandal," but they're paired with newcomer "Last Resort."
In a press conference call right after the schedule announcement, ABC Entertainment President Paul Lee said he's not concerned about launching a big action show at 8 p.m. -- especially not "Last Resort," from "The Shield" creator Shawn Ryan.
"I have so much faith in Shawn. You get a sense in this job of the showrunners who really know how to drive the train. Don't forget -- we've opened strong action shows at that hour, and certainly there's an audience for it. We believe strongly in the strength of this show. We think it's a big, broad tent show, we believe in it, and we're certainly going to market it in the fall."
As for the decision to renew Shonda Rhimes' new drama "Scandal," Lee said: "I think Kerry Washington is brilliant in this one -- the episodes keep getting better and better and better."
The Wednesday night comedy block anchored by "Modern Family" -- "As far as I'm concerned, 'Modern Family' is the defining comedy of our time," Lee said. "I can't think of a show that better expresses the ABC brand than 'Modern Family.'" -- will also now include “The Neighbors” and Connie Britton's country musical "Nashville" will follow.
"The Neighbors" and "Last Resort" are among the 10 fresh series ABC is launching. "ER" star Anthony Edwards' return to TV in "Zero Hour" will air in the midseason. “666 Park Avenue,” “The Family Tools,” “How to Live with your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life)," "Mistresses," “Red Widow" and “Malibu Country" join ABC for its 2012-2013 slate, half of which premiere midseason. Upcoming Reba McEntire comedy "Malibu Country" brings the former "Reba" star back to Fridays on ABC for a bit of a TGIF reunion -- former "Home Improvement" star Tim Allen's "Last Man Standing" will air the same night.
"I think it's time for Friday night to be the destination for broad family comedy again," Lee said.

off hand - looks like no loss that ABC only comes in sometimes on my antenna
I stopped caring about Grey's the episode where CPS took away Mer and Derick's adopted child b/c they were separated - shit doesn't happen like that, made me mad and I couldn't watch anymore.

You made it a lot longer than me...I quit when Meredith "died" for several hours.
No matter how dumb Grey's gets, I can never quit it. It doesn't have a lot of zing these days, and it's hard to care what happens to those jerks. I hope Kepner is the one who dies next week and not anyone important. But I'll keep watching. Unless Avery dies, because he's SO DREAMY.
Is Revenge good? I tried watching the first episode on Hulu and couldn't get into it. Is it worth powering through?
I love it, but get some flack from my friends for it being soap operaish.
I have absolutely no snobbery about my television watching habits. LOL
Revenge is so good/awful. The end of this season hasn't been quite as good because I want to see her get more REVENGE. What happened to all the revenge-getting, damnit?
Blech. ABC's schedule is so weak. Modern Family is the only thing really good. And I watch Grey's because I've watched it for years but it not really great.
And what is it with them and awful show names? I think Cougartown would still be on if it had a decent name. Also "The B--in Apt 23" is an okay show but the name is so bad I don't want to watch.

College football is the only thing on the list I watch regularly. I've seen a couple of episodes of Modern Family, but we don't watch it regularly. Partly b/c we still call Ed O'Neil 'Al Bundy' and make tons of Married with Children references. And partly b/c I spend a lot of time saying "Hey, that guy looks just like you! every time the ginger is on the screen and bugging H.

Lord yes. Kepner can suck it. I had a sinking feeling it's Derek... but then I remembered that Patrick Dempsey cannot survive on State Farm commercials alone.
Does anyone think that Modern Family is getting less funny these days? I used to laugh and laugh but in the last 5 or so episodes I can barely muster up a giggle.

Hehe. Oh that melodious voice of his.
I read about whose contracts got renewed for next year and I can tell you if you want. I wouldn't spoil who dies, but it would narrow it down a bit...
