Theres one 24-hour pharmacy here and it's in a super sketchy part of town. Nothing else is open 24 hrs. And so many things are not to open Sundays. I still forget that I can't buy alcohol on Sundays here. Also, we live in the only non-dry county in the entire state. Holy hell.

Oh, I forgot! No last call.
When we moved to San Diego and went out, the bar did last call and I was like "What? What's that?" lol
I remember learning when I was 18 that not every fast food establishment is open after midnight. And that gas stations close. I mean, what sense does that make? People need gas and munchies at 2 am.
Well, at the moment: Our car Being able to walk into the PX or Commissary Food options A Kitchen Space
Normally at this assignment (when we're not stuck in lodging due to stupidity): family knowing where I can go for xyz the buddies I only get to see once or twice a year food options having a garage being a two-car family being able to read signs/menus/posters/etc
There are things I will miss about our time here, but on the whole, those are fewer than the things I miss.
The local donut chain Olive Garden that's 20 min away instead of 4 hours. Going to my home church that I grew up in and knew everyone Bigger towns within 30 minutes driving distances Several airport choices for traveling Cheaper plane tickets Living close to family

Pan Dulce in regular supermarkets. I mean variety. Not just some stale conchas that have been sitting around or shipped in from elsewhere. Trader Joe's Lower cost of living - rent prices don't change more than about $50 per year. Being able to drive most of the day. Freeways here are like a parking lot twice a day. I'm lucky I have the option to avoid but mixed with working around a one year old's schedule things get old quickly. Real craft stores. We have a nice yarn store and if you want Hawaiian print fabric there are places to get that also. Otherwise, good luck with shipping. Also good electronics and computer stores. Here we've got to make do with Best Buy, the Exchanges and waiting on things in the mail. I guess that means I also miss 2nd day delivery from my Amazon prime.
Mostly I like it here. I just had an idea for another S/O thread.
I really miss being surrounded by mountains sometimes, also the wonderfully crisp falls and gradual springs. Oh, and I miss fry sauce. There's a Greek restaurant near us now that has it, and sometimes we'll get takeout from them just for the fry sauce. My family and old friends, obviously, but not much else. All in all, it's not enough to make me want to move back.

I miss the mountains and the fresh pine air. I miss the general lack of population, it was cool to be able to see all the stars on a clear night. I miss the general "active" culture. Everyone does something whether it's climbing, hiking, biking, skiing. It was nice. I miss my close friends and my family. I miss good Mexican food.
I miss the landscape, I hated being in the south where everything was flat. Give me some hills, mountains and valleys! I also miss people understanding what I'm saying when I use words that can only be described as "Pittsburghese".
My awesome job at a level 1 trauma center. Grandma's cooking. Hanging with my mom at her quilt shop. Local restaraunts. Knowing how to get places without GPS.
