What things do you or will you miss about past or present duty stations?
From Georgia I miss good barbecue. And L, my lunch buddy. And low cost of living.
From New England I miss all the chowders. I miss fall being a real season and actually having 4 totally different seasons. I miss snow a teeny tiny bit, just not the work that went with it. I miss the New Hampshire political atmosphere. I miss having no state sales tax also in New Hampshire. I miss good sandwich shops.
From here I'm going to miss living somewhere that is beautiful most of the time. Rainbows almost every day. Beaches everywhere. The spirit of Aloha. I'm going to miss Kalua pork, and pineapple everything. I'm going to miss my cute house and once we're gone I might miss the geckos a little bit.

29 Palms: I miss H's old btn, and Yucca Valley. I also miss driving to Palm Springs on Fridays for dinner and a movie. I guess I just miss the experiences more.
Jacksonville: I was there only about 5 weeks, but H and I both wish we would've stayed there. I miss the green, the proximity to other major east coast cities (We could've done SO MUCH traveling), our little apartment, and weather (Minus black ice. Black ice can go eff itself).
San Diego: Um. I miss the beach, the Mexican food, baseball games, IKEA.
Vandenberg: I miss so many things there. The beaches, the ocean, the weather, the scenery, the sunsets. I loved being a day trip away from the big cities like San Fran. The yummy fish and chips place in town.
Here: I will miss the mountains. And the close proximity to Glacier and Yellowstone. The sky really is bigger and makes for amazing sunrises/sunsets. I will miss the quiet highways and lack of rush hour traffic on them, ever. And no state sales tax.
We were stationed in VA (Ft Eustis) for 10 years. We are from VA, so being 3 hours away was amazing. I miss being close to family, the beach, my friends...I miss trees with green buds, flowers, humidity....I miss going to DC, the OBX, and NYC... I just miss that state.
D.C.: I'll miss driving by the monuments and Capitol everyday on my way to work. That's pretty cool. I like all the Space-A options, and that NYC is a cheap quick bus ride away.
San Antonio: The only thing I miss is the cheap Mexican food.
Minot, ND: I miss the open spaces, sunsets, ample free parking everywhere. It smells good there too, like prairie grass and sunshine.
Obviously each of these places also has negatives lol.

XBFF lived in Minot. I visited her there once. I liked the small townyness of it, but that cold man, there's no way.
Oh no kidding! It is FREEZING in the winter. Ridiculously cold, and windy. We left Minot before the flood that wiped out most of the town and the oil boom, I've heard it's changed a lot. I wonder if that "small townyness" is still there or if it's just a cold mean place now, lol.

It's still small here lol. But we have a 5 Guys now, so, yay?
But really, it's not so bad here. This winter has been really mild so far, so that's awesome (though we still have 3ish months to go). I'll miss the nice summers and having a true autumn season, but the winters can take a hike. And the mosquitos.
Columbus was a good little town and had AMAZING bbq. Close in proximity to Tuscaloosa, Tupelo, Starkville, and Memphis.
Shreveport is hot as hell and smells like the swamp. And traffic on Airline Dr. is horrendous. I don't miss that place.

Florida: our Church and our friends, the beaches, Pensacola NAS was nice to visit.
Oklahoma: absolutely nothing. Omg.
New Jersey: I am going to miss my cute house, my community of friends, my neighbors. Being able to get a cheesesteak whenever. All of the high quality non-chain restaurants. I love it here so much.

Omg. Pensacola. I think about those beaches often.
JBLM- The endless cute coffee shops, Puget Sound, Seattle, cheap flowers, this amazing butcher/produce/specialty grocery store, so much stuff!
Georgia- A lot of people hate the post we were at, but we enjoyed it. We found some awesome restaurants, and had a great house with a fenced in yard and covered patio
Korea- easy, cheap, reliable transit, access to the rest of Asia for vacations, kitchen scissors at restaurants to cut meat (seriously, it's a genius idea), and we've made the best friends here that we will miss immensely

Where were you in GA?
The one I'm talking about up there was Gordon. MH was at Benning for BOLC but we weren't married until right before he left and I only visited so I don't really have a strong opinion of it.
Pensacola- as already mentioned the beaches there are gorgeous! We were there during the oil spill but I still did my best to enjoy them. We also had a favorite pizza place that we and a big group of friends went to at least once a week.
Jacksonville (FL)- we just left there and so far I miss all of the friends we made. They were our family for the past 4+ years. I also miss the dog park and boarding place we always used, and being a few hours away from all the things to do in Orlando.

Germany: the inexpensive but amazing Riesling. Delicious schnitzel. The fabulous Italian restaurant in our village. My son's kindergarten. Living so close to so many different countries and cultures. Did I mention the wine? My friends. Driving 120mph on the Autobahn. The Rhein River.
Seriously, I could go on forever. I'm gonna miss this place. We leave in less than one week.
Knox - Louisville is a great little city. Great parks, great food, friendly people. I barely went to post though.
Rucker - uh, 90 min to the beach? I didn't like it there.
San Antonio - good food, warm winter weather. I am not a big fan of Texas.
JBER - amazing area. So much outdoor activity, mountains in your backyard, great summer weather, nice people, surprisingly good beer and food scene. Everyone is so relaxed and not fancy here which is refreshing. Fancy dinner out = nicer jeans lol. Plus I see moose regularly, that never gets old.
