Although Brenda's mother's death was rather telegraphed, it was still deeply affecting. I liked the fact that they didn't shrink from showing her body in bed. While it sounds insensitive, I prefer it to the usual American TV sanitization of death.

And I loved the twist in the reveal of the leak. It was the perfect way to make no one responsible for it, but still have the betrayal cut deep.

I cried at the end when Brenda was sitting on the bed crying.

I am thankful that they wrapped up the plot about the leak and thought it was clever. I sort of always had a feeling Gabriel was involved somehow because he was in the car and had been upset about it. But I love him as a character and didn't want him to be the "one."

He's not listed as a cast member of Major Crimes so I'm assuming he will be transferring.

Also, not sure how Fritz stays in but Brenda is out. Maybe she's make small appearances. I don't know. I don't see how this spinoff is gonna play out.

I felt so bad for Gabriel. Poor guy's life just turned completely upside down. I think that Brenda will end up retiring to spend time with her dad, which allows for her to be gone but Fritz to still be around.
