DH was taken to the ER this morning by his boss. (They called me on the way) he is having severe abdomen pain.
So far we have been here for 4 hours and multiple tests but no answers yet. He is in getting an ultrasound right now. He has been in there for at least 45 mins. Urg.
I hate when he's sick because I feel so useless. I like being able to control things when it comes to medical things.
He has been thinking that he has a hernia for a few days now, so this could be that or something different. Who knows.
Update: we got sent home after spending 3/4 of the day in the ER, the doctor thinks it is kidney stones. Instead of keeping us waiting for 6-8 hrs to get a CT to confirm it. We have an appointment at 9am tomorrow morning, we have to be there at 8am. 8am on a Saturday is early! Ugh!
For now we got some pain meds, and he has been given the meds for a kidney stone just in case. (We have been told him taking a few does and it not being a kidney stone won't hurt him.)
Final update: he does not have kidney stones, he has a blocked bowel. So he is now on new meds that will hopefully help with this. If it doesn't help within 3-4 days he is supposed to go back to the ER and they will do another CT and then go from there.

Oh man, lots of positive thoughts for you both. Hope you get some answers soon! Even when you work in healthcare, it's always so hard when something is happening with someone you love.
I hope he starts feeling better soon! If it is kidney stones, I hope that they pass quickly. H had them, as felt so much better once they passed; unfortunately it took a couple of weeks for that to happen.
ugh, I'm so sorry he's hurting, hope he's feeling better soon. why not do the CT in the ER?
H's with kidney stones are the worst. my DH has had 4 in the past 2 years, ugh. I always want to cry when I see him in so much pain and there's nothing I can do to help.
pooh8402- there is no appointment available for a CT at the hospital tonight. So they made it for the morning. The only CT machines here are in the hospital or at radiology clinics. (Those take 4-6 months to get into.)
Because kidney stones are not "bad enough" to bump someone we have to wait.
